6 ἐν ἐπαγγελίᾳ, with comitative ἐν.

6 ἐν ἐπαγγελίᾳ, with comitative ἐν.

5In Deut. 5:16 the main imperative clause is followed by “as the LORD your God commanded you” (presumably a reference back to Exod. 20:12). In the LXX (followed here) the MT clauses “that your days may be prolonged” and “that it may go well with you” are transposed.

6ἐν ἐπαγγελίᾳ, with comitative ἐν.

7Gk. ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (omitting ἧης ϰύϱɩος ὸ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοɩ).

8Gk. τοῡτο γάϱ ἐστɩν δίϰαɩον (whereas in Col. 3:20 such obedience is εὐάϱεστον . . . ἐν ϰυϱίω).

9The ruling criticized by Jesus, according to which money which might have been used to help one’s parents must not be used for that purpose if it had already been devoted to God (qorbān), was effectively annulled before the end of the first century A.D. by Eliezer ben Hyrcanus and his colleagues (Mishnah, Nedārî m 9.1).

10Here μὴ παϱοϱγίζετε, as compared with Col. 3:21 μὴ ἐϱεθίζετε.

11Gk. ἐν παɩδείᾳ ϰαί νουθεσία ϰυϱίου.
