Gk. χαϱίσματα (used thus also in 1 Cor. 12:4, 9, 28, 30-31), a word not found in the present letter, where the word for “gift” in this sense is δωϱεά (Eph. 3:7; 4:7) or δóμα (in the OT citation in v. 8).

Cf. 1 Pet. 4:10, “as each has received a gift (Xάϱισμα), employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s manifold grace” (ὡς ϰαλοί οỉϰονóμοι ποιϰίληζ ξάϱιτοζ θεοῦ).

Gk. ϰατὰ τò μέτϱον τῆς δωϱεᾶς τοῦ χϱιστοῦ. Cf. Rom. 12:3, “according to the measure of faith that God has assigned to each” (ἑϰάστω ὡς ὁ θεòς ἐμέϱισεν μέτϱον πίστεως).

Mark 1:8; John 1:33, etc. In Luke 24:49; John 15:7, 26; 16:7 Christ is said to “send” the Spirit.

Another is the designation of those who receive and exercise the gifts of the Spirit as themselves “gifts” (v. 11 below).

Gk. διò λέγει.

It occurs in Jas. 4:6 (introducing Prov. 3:34).
