Section 188
85Gk. ἐν σαϱϰί, expressing the idea more commonly expressed by ϰατἀ σάϱϰα. Elsewhere in Paul ἐν σαϱϰί means “in an unregenerate state” (e.g., Rom. 8:8-9) or “in mortal body” (e.g., 2 Cor. 10:3). For ϰατἀ σάϱϰα expressing earthly relationships cf. Rom. 1:3; 9:3, 5, and especially (with regard to the master/slave relationship) Col. 3:22; Eph. 6:5.
86“If, then, you have me as a partner,” says Paul (εὶ
με ἔϰεɩς ϰoɩνωνóν); for this sense of ἔϰω cf. (e.g.) Matt. 14:5, ώς πϱoφήτην αὐτòν
, “they regarded him as a prophet.” The force of ϰoɩνωνóς here seems to be more specific than that of ϰoɩνωνία in v. 6.
