96 ἡ γἀϱ ἀγάπη τοῦ Xϱɩστοῦ συνέϰεɩ ἡμᾶς.
93Gk. πᾶν τò σῶμα δɩὰ τѽν ἁϕѽν ϰαὶ συνδέσμων ἐπɩϰοϱηγούμενον ϰαὶ συμβɩβαςóμενον. Of these words or phrases πᾶν τò σἀμα and άφή occur in both passages; to the participle ἐπɩϰοϱηγούμενον in Col. 2:19 corresponds the noun ἐπɩϰοϱηγία here (in the translation above the genitive τῆς ἐπɩϰοϱηγίας is treated adjectivally after δɩἀ πάσης άϕῆς, “through every supporting joint”). As for συμβɩβαζóμενον, which is also common to both passages, in Col. 2:19 it has much the same force as συναϱμολογούμενον here (“put together”); by analogy it may be regarded here as a doublet of συναϱμολογούμενον.
94Gk. ϰατ’ ἐνέϱγεɩαν (for ἐνέϱγεɩα of divine power cf. Eph. 1:19; 3:7). Instead of the verb αὺξάνεɩ or αὒξεɩ (“grows” intransitively, as in Col. 2:19; the accusative τὴν αὒξησɩν there is internal), the periphrasis τὴν αὒξησɩν . . . ποɩεῖταɩ (“makes the growing,” i.e., “causes to grow,” active) is used: “the body” is both the subject and the object of the clause (“from whom the whole body . . . causes the body to grow”).
95While μέϱους rather than μέλους is to be read (see p. 339, n. 35), μέϱος here has the sense of μέλος. The two words are linked as doublets from Plato onward (cf. J. Horst, TDNT 4, pp. 555, 566 n. 81, s.v. μέλος).
96ἡ γἀϱ ἀγάπη τοῦ Xϱɩστοῦ συνέϰεɩ ἡμᾶς.
97τἀ ἔθνη. ℵ2 D1 Ψ and the majority of cursives with the Syriac versions insert λοɩπά between the article and the noun (“the other Gentiles,” KJV).
