Origen.

§ 83. Up to this point we have been listing the testimonies of the Eastern churches and of the bishops placed over them. Now we must add the testimonies also of other neighboring churches. The catechist of the Church at Alexandria in Egypt was Origen, the disciple and successor of Clement of Alexandria. Origen was called adamantinus [“man of steel”] and [“of untiring patience and diligence”] because of his tolerance of hardships and the multitude of his writings. In his explanation of Psalm 1, he lists the twenty-two books of the Old Testament in the canon, that is, he agrees completely with the opinion of our churches regarding the canon, as Eusebius related (Hist. eccl., bk. 6, c. 24).
