Which are the apocryphal books?

§ 67. The apocryphal books of the Old Testament are all the rest contained in the codex of the Old Testament besides the canonical books. We can arrange them in two classes. (I) Some are apocryphal by the confession of the Papists themselves, though they are contained in the Greek or Latin codex of the Bible. Such are 3 and 4 Ezra, 3 and 4 Maccabees, the Prayer of Manasseh, Psalm 151, and the Appendix to the Book of Job. (II) Some are considered canonical by the Papists, though they are in fact apocryphal. These are either entire books or fragments of some books. The entire books are either didactic, such as Sirach and Wisdom [of Solomon], or historical, such as Tobit, Judith, Baruch, and 1 and 2 Maccabees. The fragments are the additions to Esther and Daniel—namely, the Song of the Three Children, the account of Bel and the Dragon, and the account of Susanna. Likewise, an Epistle of Jeremiah is connected to the Book of Baruch.
