2 Timothy.

§ 267. With regard to time, this is the last Epistle of St. Paul. He wrote it to Timothy a few days before his blessed departure [] from his captivity at Rome.

It consists of four chapters and falls into three parts. In the first, he encourages Timothy to guard the soundness of doctrine with great zeal and not to allow any perils to move him from his confession. In the second, he forewarns him of misleading spirits that already at that time were springing up in the Church. In the third, he explains his own situation to Timothy and asks Timothy to come to him, to bring Mark with him, and to bring some of his own things to him.
