పరిశుద్ధ యుద్ధము జాన్ బన్యన్ (1628–1688) రచించిన రూపక కావ్యము. యాత్రికుని గమనమును కృపాతిశయమును వ్రాసిన బెడ్‌ఫర్డు ప్రసంగికుడు ఆత్మను నగరముగా చిత్రించెను: మాన్‌సౌల్ అను ప్రపంచ మెట్రోపాలిస్, షద్దై సృష్టి ముద్ర, ఇమ్మానుయేలు విమోచన, దియాబొలుసు ఆక్రమణ. ద్వారములు చెవులు కన్నులు; నాయకులు విశ్వాసము ఓర్పు ప్రేమ; శత్రువులు అవిశ్వాసము సందేహము శరీరిక నిర్భయము. బన్యన్ కథనము మనుష్యుని హృదయముపై పరలోకమును అంధకారమును మధ్య సాగు యుద్ధము.

గ్రంథాంతమున నరకద్వారము కొండ నుండి వార్త వచ్చును; సందేహాస్పదుల సైన్యము మాన్‌సౌల్‌ను ముట్టడించును; నాయకుడు విశ్వాసము రాజు ముద్రతో నిలుచును; సందేహాస్పదులు పాతి పెట్టబడుదురు. దుష్ట ప్రశ్న తన ఇంటిలో సందేహాస్పదులకు ఆశ్రయమిచ్చి విచారణకు రాజు న్యాయమునకు ఎదురగును. మిగిలిన దియాబొలోనియనులు వెదకబడుదురు; అవిశ్వాసము పూర్తిగా పట్టుబడదు. చివరకు ఇమ్మానుయేలు సంతస్థలములో మాన్‌సౌల్‌కు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చును: వస్త్రములు తెల్లగా కాపాడుము, పాపమును జాగ్రత్తపడుము, నా ప్రేమ స్థిరమని నమ్ముము; నేను వచ్చువరకు గట్టిగా పట్టుకొనుము.
