CLASSIC SERMON OUTLINES — Matthew Henry sidicieipindbtebemeist: Let us not bifelist sticaetded with the cash of this world, but lay up in store good securities.

3. The security of the heavenly treasures. It is a great encouragement to us to lay up treasure in heaven in knowing that there it is safe. It will not decay of itself, no moth or rust will corrupt it; nor can we be by force or fraud aes of it; thieves do not Heeks coh and steal. ae. . a: bl Pe .

II]. GOOD REASONS. |

A. Against Laying Up Earthly Treasures.

1. Because they are liable to loss and decay by internal corruption. That which is treasure upon earth moth and rust will corrupt. If the treasure be laid up in fine clothes, the moth eats them and they are spoiled. Gold and silver tarnishes and grows less with using. Worldly riches have in themselves | a principle of corruption and decay; they wither of themselves and make themselves wings.

2. Because they are liable to loss and decay by external violence. "Thieves break through and steal." Every hand of violence will be aiming at the house where the treasure of this world is laid up; nor can anything be laid up so safe, but we may be spoiled of it. I which we may so easily be robbed.

B. In Favor of Laying Up Heavenly Treasures. yee
