The Year of the Redeemed

4, For the pleasant things of the palaces of Zion, which have been laid waste. God keeps an account of the mischief done at any time and will bring it all into the reckoning when the year of recompences comes.

B. The Year of Release for God's Captives.

1. Release from oppressed consciences. The compliance to tyranny while the soul remains unbended is a grievous affliction; the freeing of the oppressed from this force will be a most glorious deliverance.

2. Release of oppressed confessors. Humanity obliges us much and Christianity much more, to pity the distressed state of those who are in bonds and banishment for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus

Christ. Then shall be the time when the house of the prisoners shall be opened and every man's chains fall from his hands.

C. The Year of the Revival of Primitive Christianity.

1, Prominence of godliness among men. The year of the revival of primitive Christianity in the power of it will be the year of the redeemed. This we long to see, the dominance of serious godliness in the lives of all who are called Christians.

2. Worldwide spread of the Gospel. When the bounds of Christianity will be enlarged by the conversion of nations to the faith of Christ; when the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of the Lord and His Christ and the Redeemer's throne set up where Satan's seat is, then will the year of the Redeemed come.

3. Suppression of sin. Mistakes shall be rectified, corruptions purged out. Every plant that is not of our heavenly Father's planting shall be rooted up and the plants that are of His planting shall be fruitful and flourishing. Vice and profanity shall be suppressed and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

4, Unity among God's people. Divisions shall be healed and the unity of the Spirit kept in the bond of peace. All shall agree to love one another although they cannot agree in everything to think with one another.

5. Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit shall be poured out from on high so that truth will triumph over error, devotion over profaneness, virtue over all immoralities, justice and truth over treachery and all unrighteousness.
