డి. ఎల్. మూడీ కథలును ఉపమానములును అను ఈ గ్రంథము డ్వైట్ లైమన్ మూడీ (1837–1899) తన టాబర్నకిలు సమావేశములలోను హిప్పోడ్రోము సమావేశములలోను చెప్పిన కథల సంకలనము. మూడీ తాను సరిచూచిన ప్రసంగములనుండి తీయబడిన ఈ చిన్న కథలు సువార్తను హృదయమునకు చేర్చును. క్షమాపణ అడుగు అపవ్యయుడు, కృప వెదకు బీదవాడు, పరలోక ధనము ఎన్నుకొను ఉపాధ్యాయుడు, అవిశ్వాసమునుండి వెలుగులోనికి వచ్చు న్యాయాధిపతి — ఇట్టి దృశ్యములలో మూడీ క్రీస్తు రక్షణను సరళముగా చూపును. చిన్న «బంగారము» పేరాలు — మూడీ సంక్షిప్త వచనములు — గ్రంథమంతట చెదరి యుండును.
