101Psalm 101

1I will praise you with songs.

2T will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me?I will lead a life of integrityin my own home.

3T will refuse to look atanything vile and vulgar.Thate all who deal crookedly;Iwill have nothing to do with them.

4I will reject perverse ideasand stay away from every evil.

5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors.I will not endure conceit and pride.

6I will search for faithful peopleto be my companions.Only those who are above reproachwill be allowed to serve me.

7Twill not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.

8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. Theme: The cure for distress. Because God is living, eternal, and unchanging, we can trust him to help his people in this generation just as he helped his people in past generations.

Life Application Notes 1 note

101:6David said that he would “search for faithful people” to be his companions. He would choose as models and as friends those who were godly and truthful. Our friends and associates can have a profound influence on us. Make sure to choose as your closest companions those who are faithful to God and his Word.
