Introduction

Job is a wisdom book about a blameless sufferer and the limits of easy answers. Friends argue that suffering must be punishment; Job insists on his integrity and cries to God. The Lord answers from the whirlwind, not with a chart but with creation. The book teaches reverence, honesty, and that God is God.
