Article XI. Order Of Business
a. The order of busirtess: for the convention: shall be as
follows although it may.be changed.on motion without notice
when supported by a two-thirds vote of those preSent at the
convention,
1. Devotional service
2. Opening of the convention
3. Ral] call
'4.,Correction.and. approval of minutes
6. Report of the president
6. Election of president
7. Other elections may be interspersed with subsequent
items as 'necessary.
8. Report of boards
9. Reports-of committees (a) standing committees (b) special committees
10. Reports of individual -appointées and representatives
11. New business 12, [Installation of president
13. Induction of new members of boards and of the Executive Council.
14. Adjournment with appropriate servite bh. +t some time in the convention there shall be a service of Holy Communion. Special programmes and presentations may be arranged and interspersed with other itams in the arder of business.
Article XII. Rules Of Order
Sec. 1. DEBATE AND DECORUM '
a. Every delegate or member of a body shall have right to speak once on all questions and after all those desiring to do 80 have spoken once. he shall have the right to speak again.
b. Every delegate or member of a body shall obtain the recognition of the chair before speaking.
c. Thea'mover of any proposition shall have the. right to be the last speaker in the debate on the motion made by him.
d. Every delegate or member of a body shall refrain from the use bf pursoralities and shall confine himselt strictiyto the question before shedvody.:
Sec. 2. VOTING
a. Every delegate or member of a body shall have the right to vote on all questions except that no one shall vote on a question affecting himself, nor shall he be present when any matter relating to himself'is under debate.
b. Any delegate or member of a body shall have right to have his dissent recorded on any questipn or part thereof with his reasons for dissent. These reasons shall be supplied in writing to the secretary by the dissenting delegate or member of the body. -
Sec. 3. MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS
a. Every delegate shall have the right to make a motion or offer a resolution.
b. If a mbtion or resolution applies to the work of a board or committee, it shall ordinarily be referred to that body for colisidetation and recommendation.
c. Every motion or resolution shall be presented to the secretary in writing"if required.
d. Every motion or resolution which receives a mojority vote of the delegates or members present shall be declared passed unless some other majority is required by the coastitution or by-laws of this Church.
Sec. 4. CONDUCT OF ELECTION
a. Before the opening of the election of president and of other persons who are elected by the convention, the president shall read the following declaration and the cenvention shall denote dssent to the same by a rising vota. solemnly declare that will not vote at these ejections for any person through fear orifavoar, but in singleness of heart for the glory of God and the good of His people; and will vote for such persons only as in my conscience believe to be of such learning and soundness in the faith and of such virtue and ability as to qualify for the holy offices of the Church."
b. Then shall follow the procedure laid.down in Art. Vil. Sec. 2. b. of the constitution of this Church.
c. Any person nominated for president on, the-first ballot and who receives sufficient votes either to be elected on that ballot, or to have his name placed before the convention for the second ballot as provided in the constitution of the A.E L. Church, Art. Vil. Sec. 2. b. 5. and 6. shall sign immediately and give fo the president of the Church the following declaration: luce ioe iienecinenennee et, do hereby solemnly declare that! have '-*hot endeavoured in any way contrary to the Word of Ged and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to influence any" person to vate for my election as president of the A.E.L. Church. Signature. 200000000 000000000 ant gente In the event that any nominated person is unable to sign this declaration, his name shail be struck off the list of nominees and it shall not be lawful to include it by any vete of the convention.
Sec. 5. All parliamentary rules and practices not covered by ths constitution dnd by-laws of this church shall be determined Robert's Rules of Order.
