Salmo 7
Verse 1
David appears before God to plead with Him against the accuser, who accused him of betrayal and treachery. The case is opened here with a statement of trust in God. Whatever the emergency of our condition, we will never find it wrong to keep our trust in our God. "O Lord my God," mine by a special covenant, sealed by the blood of Jesus is ratified in my own soul by a sense of union with you; "in you" and only in you "I place my trust", even now in my anguish. I I tremble, but my rock does not move. It is never right to doubt God and it is never necessary to trust him. And now, with the divine relationship and the Santa confidence to strengthen him, David expresses the burden of his desire save me from all those who pursue me. His pursuers were many, and any of them cruel enough to devour him; he cries, therefore, for the salvation of all of them. We should never think about our prayers complete until we ask for the preservation of all sin and of all enemies. "And deliver me", deliver me from their traps, absolve me from their accusations, to give a true and fair release in this judgment of my injured character. See how clearly your case is stated; let's see what we know or what we would have when we reach the throne of mercy.
Stop a little before praying, so that you do not offer sacrifices of fools.
Have a clear idea of your need and then you can pray with more fluency of fervor.
Versículo 2. "Para que ele não rasgue a minha alma." Aqui está o apelo do fearing cooperating with the argument of faith. There was one among the enemies of David more powerful than the rest, who had dignity, strength, and ferocity, and was, therefore, 'like a lion'. From this enemy he urgently seeks liberation. Perhaps this was Saul, his real enemy; but in our case there is someone who walks like a lion, looking for whom it can devour, to whom We must always cry out: 'Deliver us from the Evil One'. Observe the vigor of descrição - "rasgando em pedaços, enquanto não há nenhum para entregar". É a figure of David's pastoral life. When the fierce lion pounced on the helpless lamb, and made it his prey, he tore the victim apart, broke all the bones and devoured everything, because no shepherd was nearby to to protect the lamb or rescue it from the voracious beast. This is a moving portrait of a saint surrendered to the will of Satan. This will cause the entrails of Jehovah longs. A father cannot remain silent when a child is in such danger. No, he will not bear the thought of his dear one in the claws of a lion, he will rise up and deliver his pursuer. Our God is very lamentable, and he will certainly save his people from such destruction desperate. It will be good for us to remember here that this is a description of danger to which the psalmist was exposed to slanderous tongues. In truth, not it is an exaggerated picture, for the wounds of a sword heal, but the wounds of the tongue cut deeper than flesh and are not easily healed.
Cured. The slander leaves an insult, even if it is completely refuted.
Common fame, although notoriously a common liar, has many believers. Once let a slanderous word enter the mouths of men, and it's not easy to completely take her out again. Italians say that good reputation is like the cypress, once cut, it never puts out leaves again; this does not it's true if our character is cut by the hand of a stranger, but still thus he will not recover his former vigor soon. Oh, it is a great cruelty it's detestable to stab a good man in his reputation, but the devilish hatred does not observe any nobility in its way of war. We need to be ready for this trial, for it will certainly come upon us. If God was slandered in Eden, we will certainly be defamed in this land of sinners.

Verses 3-5. The second part of this wandering hymn contains a protest of innocence is an invocation of wrath upon his own head, if he were not clear of the evil that was imputed to him. Far from hiding treacherous intentions in your hands, or naively pleasing the peaceful acts of a friend, he even suffered his enemy to escape when he had him completely in his power. Twice he spared Saul's life; once in the cave of Adulam, and again when he found him sleeping in the middle of his sleeping camp: he could, therefore, with a clear conscience, make your appeal to heaven. He does not need to fear the curse whose soul is free of guilt. But the curse is the most solemn and justifiable only by the extremity of the occasion and by the nature of the dispensation under which the psalmist lived. We are commanded by our Lord Jesus to let our yes let it be yes, and our yes, or rather: "for everything that is more than this comes "to do bad". If we cannot believe in our word, certainly not we must trust in our oath; for a true Christian, his A simple word is as binding as another man's oath.
Especially beware, oh unconverted men! of trivialities with solemn curses.
Selah Davi increases the solemnity of this appeal to the terrible tribunal of God for the use of the usual pause.
From these verses, we can learn that no innocence can to protect a man from the slanders of the wicked. David had been meticulously careful to avoid any appearance of rebellion against Saul, whom he constantly referred to as 'the anointed of the Lord'; but everything this could not protect you from lying in tongues. As the shadow follows the substance, envy follows goodness. It is only in the tree laden with fruits that men throw stones. If we live without being slandered, we must wait until we reach heaven.
Let's be very careful not to believe the rumors that are always around. harassing gracious men. If there are no believers in lies, there will be just a stifling market of falsehood, and the characters of good men they will be safe. I will never speak well. Sinners have a bad will to with the saints and, therefore, make sure they will not speak well of them.
Verse 6: Now we hear a new prayer, based on the declaration that he just did. We cannot pray too frequently, and when our the heart is true, we must turn to God in prayer so naturally as the needle at its pole. "Rise up, Lord, in your anger." His sadness makes him see the Lord. like a judge who left the court and retreated for his rest. Faith would you, Lord, move to avenge the quarrel of your saints. "Arise for the sake of the anger of my enemies" - an even stronger figure to express your anxiety that the Lord would assume His authority and ascend to the throne.
Rise up, O God, be exalted above all, and let your justice be lifted. above your villainies. "Awaken for me to the judgment that you ordered." This is an even bolder statement, as it implies sleep and inactivity, and can only be applied to God in a very limited sense. He never sleeps, but many times seems to do so; because the wicked prevail, and the saints are trampled in the dust. God's silence is the patience of long-suffering, and if it is tiring for the saints, they must endure it joyfully in the hope that sinners may be brought to regret.
Verse 7
'Thus the congregation of the people will surround you.' Your saints will they will come to your court with their complaints, or they will surround it with their solemn homage: "Because of them, therefore, return to the high". Like when a judge travels and I watch, all men bring their cases to his court so that they may be heard, so the righteous will gather to their Lord. Here he strengthens in prayer, arguing that if the Lord is going to ascend to the throne of judgment, crowds of saints will be blessed, just like he himself.
If I am too basic to be remembered, still, 'for their love', because the love you gave to your chosen people will come out of your secret pavilion and will He will sit at the door, dispensing justice among the people. When my attire includes He will certainly accelerate the desires of all the righteous, for "God will not avenging your own elected ones?
8. If I am not mistaken, David now saw the Lord in the eyes of his mind. ascending to his throne as judge, and seeing him sitting there in royal state, he approach him to exhort your suit again. In the last two verses, he he pleaded with Jehovah to rise, and now that he has emerged, he is preparing to to mingle with "the congregation of the people" that surrounds the Lord. The heralds real proclaims the opening of the court with the solemn words: "The Lord will judge the people." Our petitioner stands up immediately and shouts at seriousness and humility: "Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and "agreement with the integrity that is within me." Your hand is on a an honest heart and its cry is for a just judge.
9. He sees a smile of complacency on the King's face, and in the name of all the congregation gathered he cries out loud: "Oh, that the wickedness of the wicked "end, but establish the just." Is this not the universal longing of all the company of the chosen? When will we be freed from the filthy talk of these men of Sodom? When will we escape the filth of Meshech and the darkness of the tents of Kedar?
What a solemn and heavy truth is contained in the last sentence of the ninth verse!
How deep is divine knowledge! "He tests." How strict, how I need to know how intimate your search is! "He tests the hearts," the thoughts. secrets 'and queen', the inner affections. 'All things are naked and open in the eyes of the one we have to deal with.
Verse 10
The judge heard the case, cleared the innocent, and pronounced his voice against the pursuers. Let's get closer and learn the results of large group. There is the defamed one with the harp in hand, hymn of the justice of his The Lord is rejoicing aloud in his own liberation. "My Defense is from God, who saves the upright in heart." Oh, how good it is to have a true and right heart. The crooked sinners, with all their cunning, are frustrated by the challenges of the heart. God defends the right. The filth does not it will remain for a long time in the white and pure garments of the saints, but it will be removed by divine providence, for the distress of men through whose hands based was launched on the pious. When God tries our cause, our sun has risen and the sun of the wicked is established forever. A truth, like oil, is always above no power of our enemies you can drown him; we will refute your slanders on the day the trumpet awakens the dead and we will shine in honor when the lying lips are put in silence. O believer, do not fear all that your enemies can do or to speak against you, for the tree that God plants without winds can hurt.
Verse 11
"God judges the just", He did not hand you over to be condemned. through the lips of the pursuers. Your enemies cannot sit down on trono de Deus, nem apagar o teu nome do seu livro. Deixe-os em paz, pois God will find time for his vengeance. "God is angry with the wicked every day." He not only detests the sin, but is angry with those who continue to submit to it.
We do not have an unsympathetic and impassive God to deal with; he may be angry, Or rather, he is angry today and every day with you, you sinners. impious and unrepentant. The best day that ever dawns on a sinner brings a curse with him. Sinners may have many days of celebration, but not There are safe days. From the beginning of the year until its end, there is not a single hour in that the oven of God may not be hot, and burning in readiness for the the wicked, who will be like chaff.
Versículo 12. "Se ele não se virar, ele vai afiar sua espada." Que golpes são those who will be dealt with by that long raised arm! The sword of God was sharp on the revolving stone of our daily wickedness and, if we do not If we regret, she will quickly cut us into pieces. Turning or burning is the the only alternative for the sinner. "He bent the bow and prepared it."
13. Even now the thirsty arrow wishes to soak itself with blood of the follower. The bow is curved, the target is taken, the arrow is nocked to string, and what, oh sinner, if the arrow is to be let fly towards you now exactly! Remember, God's arrows never miss the target, and each one they, "instruments of death". The trial may take time, but it will not be too late. The Greek proverb says: "God's mill grinds late, but it grinds fine." the tip
Verse 14
In three graphic images, we see the story of the slanderer. One woman in labor provides the first metaphor. "He works with iniquity." He is full of it, tormented until he can accomplish it, he wants to work on his will, he is full of pain until his intention malignant shall be executed. "He conceived evil." This is the original of his design base. The devil had dealings with him and the virus of evil is in him. And now observe the progeny of this profane conception. The child is worthy of its father, its name he was "the father of lies", and the birth did not disprove the father, for he produced the lie.
Thus, a figure is made with perfection; the psalmist now illustrates his meaning by another, taken from the stratagems of the hunter.
Verse 15
"He made a hole and dug." He was clever in his plans and diligent in his labors. He leaned towards the dirty work of digging. He didn't fear getting his hands dirty, he was willing to work in a ditch if others could fall for it. What do things mean that men will do for to take revenge on the righteous? They hunt good men, as if they were beasts brutish; or rather, they will not give them the just chase given to the hare or the foxes, but they must hide them secretly, because they cannot to run them over or knock them down. Our enemies will not find us face to face, for they fear us as much as they pretend to despise us. But let's look for the end of the scene. The verse says that he 'fell into the pit he made'. Ah! there There he is, let's laugh at his disappointment. Look! He is the beast himself, he hunted his. own soul, and the pursuit brought him a good victim. He thinks, aha, then It should be. Come here and have fun with this trapped hunter, this biter What has bitten him. Do not have mercy on him, for it will be wasted on a wretch.
He is justly and richly rewarded for being paid in his own coin. He expelled the evil from his mouth and fell into his chest. He set fire to his own house with the torch he lit to burn a neighbor. He sent a filthy bird and returned to its nest.
16. The rod he raised high struck his own back. He threw a up arrow and "returned upon its own head". He threw a stone at another is 'it fell on its own little foot'. Curses are like hens young people, they always come back home to perch. The ashes always "I ’ ll throw it back in his face as he plays. 'How he loved to curse, then" let it come to him." (Psalm 109: 17) How many times has this been the case in the stories of ancient and modern times. Men burned their own fingers when they were waiting to mark their neighbor. And if that doesn't happen now, it will be from now on. The Lord made the dogs lick the blood of It ended in the middle of Naboth's vineyard. Sooner or later, bad actions Two pursuers have always returned to your arms. So it will be in the end. great day when the flaming darts of Satan are all shaken in your own heart, and all your followers will reap the harvest that they themselves sowed.
Verse 17
We conclude with the joyful contrast. In this all these Psalms they are in agreement; all of them display the blessedness of the righteous and make its brightest colors in contrast with the miseries of the wicked. The jewel brilliant shines on a black leaf. Praise is the occupation of the pious, their eternal work and its present pleasure. Singing is the appropriate personification for the praise and, therefore, the saints make the melody before the Lord Most High. The slandered is now a singer: his harp has been set free for a long time little time, and now we let it sweep its harmonious chords, and fly in your song for the third heaven of adored praise.
