    Psalm 30

    Verse 1

I will exalt you. I will have high and honorable conceptions of you and I will give them in my best song. Others may forget you, whisper to you, disdain you, I will blaspheme you, but 'I will exalt you', for I have been favored above all others.

I will exalt your name, your character, your attributes, your mercy for with me, your great patience with my people; but especially, I will speak well of you; 'I will exalt you,' O Jehovah; this will be my job. cheerful and constant. Because you lifted me up. Here is a contradiction: "I will exaltyou, because you exalted me." I would process according to the benefits received. The psalmist's praise was reasonable. He had a reason to give the praise that was in his heart. He was shaped like a prisoner of a dungeon, like Joseph out of the pit, and therefore he loved his liberator. Grace has lifted us from the abyss of hell, from the pit of sin, from Swamp of Discouragement, from the bed of illness, from the slavery of doubts and fears: don't we have music to offer for all this? How high our Lord Did he lift us? He lifted us up to the place of the children, to be adopted in family; raised us in union with Christ, "to sit with him in heavenly places. Lift up the name of our God, for He has lifted us up. above the stars. And you did not make my enemies rejoice over me. This it was the judgment that David feared the most of the three evils; he said: Let me fall in the hand of the Lord and not in the hand of man. Our fate was indeed terrible. if we were delivered to the will of our enemies. Blessed be the Lord, We were spared from such a terrible fate. The devil and all our spiritual enemies have not been authorized to rejoice over us; because we were saved from the birdcatcher's trap. Our wicked companions, who prophesied that we should return to our old ones sins, are disappointed. Those who were waiting for our hesitation, and "Aha! Aha! So we would have!" I have watched in vain until now. Oh happy ones those whom the Lord keeps so consistent in character that the eyes of world lynx cannot see any real flaws in them. This is our Case? Let's attribute all the glory to the one who sustained us in our integrity. Aha! Aha! So we would have this!", We have been watching in vain until now.

Oh happy are those whom the Lord keeps so consistently in character that the lynx eyes of the world cannot see any real flaw in them. Is this our case? Let's attribute all the glory to the one who us supported our integrity. Aha! Aha! So we would have this! " We watched up to now, in vain. Oh happy are those whom the Lord keeps in such a way consistent in character that the lynx eyes of the world cannot see no real failure in them. Is this our case? Let's attribute all the glory to him who sustained us in our integrity.

    Verse 2

O Lord my God, I cried out to you and you healed me. David sent prayers for you and your people when he visited the plague. He went immediately to the headquarters and not for the fallible means. God is the best doctor, even for our bodily ailments. We act very wickedly and totally when we forget God. It was a sin in Asa that he trusted the doctors and not God. If we need a doctor, then so be it. be it, but still let us first go to our God; and above all, remember that there can be no power to heal in medicine itself; the healing energy must flow from the divine hand. If our clock is out of order, we take him to the watchmaker; if our body or soul is found In difficult situations, let us turn to the one who created them, and we have a skill. infallible to put them in good condition. As for our diseases spirituals, nothing can heal these evils except the touch of the Lord Christ: if if we only touch the hem of your garment, we will be healed, whereas, if we embrace all the other doctors in our arms, they will not be able to do not do any service. "Oh my Lord God." Notice the name of the covenant. that faith uses - "my God". Three times happy is the one who can claim the own Lord as his portion. Note how David's faith ascends the scale; he sang "The Lord" in the first verse, but it is "O Lord my God" in the second. The music of the heavenly heart is an ascending thing, like the smoke pillars rising from the incense altar. I cried for you. I I could hardly pray, but I cried; I poured out my soul while a little child spills their wishes. I cried to my God: I knew to whom cry; I did not cry to my friends nor to any flesh and blood. Hence the safe and satisfying result - You cured me. I know this. I am sure.

I have the evidence of spiritual health within me now: glory be to your name! Every humble supplicant with God, who seeks liberation of the disease of sin, should accelerate as well as the psalmists, but those not so much as looking for a cure, you don't need to ask yourself if your wounds rot and your soul dies.

Verse 3: O Lord, you brought my soul from the grave. Mark, it is not I hope so certainly, without a shadow of a doubt, that God has done great things for him, from the he is extremely happy. He went down to the edge of the grave and yet, was restored to recount the patience of God; nor was this all, he possessed that nothing but grace had kept him from the lowest hell, and that made him doubly grateful. To be spared from the grave is a lot; to be delivered from well is more; Therefore, there is increasing reason for praise, since both deliverances are alone and are sent to the glorious right hand of the Lord, which is the only preserver of life, and the only Redeemer of our souls from hell.

Verse 4 Sing to the Lord, O His saints. 'Join my song; help me to express my gratitude." He felt that he could not praise God for himself. even so, therefore, I would enlist the hearts of others. Sing to the Lord, O your saints. David would not fill his choir with reproaches, but with people. sanctified, who could sing in their hearts. He calls to you, people of God, for you are holy: and if sinners are wickedly silent, let your holiness compel you to sing. You are its saints chosen, blood bought, called and separated for God; sanctified from purpose for you to offer the daily sacrifice of praise. Abound yourselves in this celestial duty. Sing to the Lord. It is a pleasant exercise; it is a profitable engagement. It doesn't need to be modified so many times for a service so pleasant. And thank you. May your songs be grateful chants, in us the mercies of the Lord will live again in joyful remembrance. A the very memory of the past must tune our harps, even if the joys present may be absent. In the memory of your holiness. The holiness is an attribute that inspires the deepest respect and demands a reverent mind; but still I thank you for the reminder of this. 'Holy, holy, "Holy!" is the song of the seraphim and cherubim; let us unite with it - not with sadness, as if we trembled in the holiness of God, but joyfully, as humbly rejoicing in it. But still, I thank you for the remembrance. "Holy, holy, holy!" is the song of the seraphim and cherubim; let us join her - not with sadness, as if we trembled in the holiness of God, but cheerfully, as we humbly rejoice in it. but still I appreciate the reminder of this. 'Holy, holy, holy!' is the song of the seraphim and cherubs; let us join her - not with sadness, as if we trembled in holiness of God, but joyfully, as humbly rejoicing in us nela.

    5. For his anger lasts only a moment. David here alludes to the dispensations of God's providence, which are the punishment ordered in His paternal government towards its wandering children, like the plague that fell upon Jerusalem for the sins of David; these are just brief judgments, and they are removed as true penitence requires forgiveness and presents the great and acceptable sacrifice. What mercy is this, for if the wrath of the Lord smoke for a long time, the meat would completely fail against God places his rod with great readiness as soon as his work is done; he is slow to anger and ready to end it. If his anger temporary and paternal for so severe that it needs to be brief, what should be the eternal terror exercised by the judge against his adversaries? In his favor Life is. As soon as the Lord looked favorably upon David, the city he lived, and the king ’ s heart also lived. We die like wilted flowers when the Lord furrows his brow, but his sweet smile revives us while the dew refreshes the field. Your favor not only sweetens and enlivens life, but it is the very life, the very essence of life. Who would know life, would seek the the favor of the Lord. Weeping may endure for a night; but the nights are not for always. Even in the gloomy winter, the star of the day lights up its lamp.

It seems appropriate that in our nights the dew of sadness falls. When the the absence of the Groom makes him obscure, it is certain that the widow's soul should desire a renewed vision of the beloved. But joy comes in the morning. When the Sun of Justice comes, we dry our eyes, and joy drives away pain intruder. Who wouldn't be happy knowing Jesus? The first rays of mornings bring us comfort when Jesus is the dawn of the day, and everyone believers know that it is like this. The mourning only lasts until morning: when the night ends, the darkness disappears. This is put forward as a reason for the holy song and the the reason why it is; short nights and happy days call for the psaltery and the harp.

    Verse 6

In my prosperity. When all your enemies were quiet and your rebellious son dead and buried, then it was the time of danger.

Many a ship founders in a calm. No temptation is so bad.

As for tranquility. I said, I will never be moved. Ah! David, you said more than it was wise to say. or even think, because God founded the world on floods, for show us what a poor, changeable, movable, and unstable world is. Unhappy the one who bases himself on this! He builds a dungeon for his hopes.

Instead of conceiving that we will never be moved, we should remember that in Soon we will be completely removed. Nothing is remaining under the moon.

Because nowadays I am prosperous, I should not imagine that I will be in my state of goods tomorrow. Like in a wheel, the upper rays descend to the fund in due time, so it is with mortal conditions. There is a revolution constant: many who are in the dust today will be highly lifted tomorrow; while those who are now on high will soon grind the earth. prosperity had evidently gone to the psalmist's head, or he did not would have been so self-confident. He remained in grace, and still forgot, and so it met with a fall. Reader, there is not much of the same material proud in all our hearts? let us be careful so that the inebriating emanations of success do not enter our brains and make us I'm fine too.

    Verse 7

Lord, by your favor, you made my mountain to stand strong. It attributed his prosperity to the favor of the Lord - so far so good, it is good to possess the hand of the Lord in all our stability and wealth. But note that the The good of a good man is not good, for it was linked to carnal security.

Your state, he compares to a mountain, a pile of earth would have been more next, we never thought very little of ourselves. He boasted about that your mountain remained strong, and yet he had already said, in the Psalm 29, that Sirion and Lebanon moved like young unicorns. The state of Was David more steadfast than Lebanon? Ah vanity, very common to all of us!

How soon the bubble will burst when the people of God put vanity into their heads, and imagine that they must enjoy the unchangeability under the stars, and to remain firm in this swirling orb. Like God, in a way moving and lucid, corrected the error of your servant: hid your face and I remained disturbed. There was no need to resort to violence, a hidden face was the sufficient. This proves, first, that David was a genuine saint, for he did not hiding the face of God on earth would disturb a sinner; and, secondly place, where the joy of the saint depends on the presence of his Lord. None mountain, no matter how firm it is, can give us rest when our communion with God is broken and His face is hidden. However, in such in fact, it is good to be disturbed. The next best thing to warming up in the light of the face of God is to be completely unhappy when that happiness is given to us denied. that David was a genuine saint, for he did not hide the face of God in the earth would disturb a sinner; and, secondly, that the joy of the saint it depends on the presence of your Lord. No mountain, no matter how firm it it can give us rest when our fellowship with God is broken and your face is hidden. However, in such a case, it is good to be disturbed. The the next best thing to being warmed by the light of God's countenance is to be completely unhappy when that happiness is denied to us. that David was a Saint Genuine, for not hiding the face of God on Earth would disturb a sinner; and, secondly, that the joy of the saint depends on the presence of your Lord. No mountain, no matter how firm it is, can give us rest when our communion with God is broken and His face is hidden. However, in such a case, it is good to be disturbed. The next best The thing to be warmed by the light of God's presence is to be completely unhappy. when this happiness is denied to us. Your expression is to be completely unhappy when this happiness is denied to us. Their expression is being completely unhappy when this happiness is denied to us.

Lord, let me weep for nothing for sin!

And then no one besides you!

And then I would do - What I could, Let it be a constant lament!

I cried out to you, O Lord. Prayer is the infallible resource of the people of God.

If they are taken to the end of their sagacities, they may still go to mercy. When an earthquake makes our mountain shake, the throne of grace still remains firm, and we can reach it. Let us never forget to pray and never doubt the success of prayer. The hand that the wounds can to heal: let us turn to the one who hurts us and he will ask us. Prayer is better comfort than the construction of a city by Cain, or the search for Saul for music. Joy and carnal diversions are a sad recipe for a a distracted and desperate mind: prayer will succeed where everything else fails.

Verse 9: In this verse, we learn the form and method of prayer.

Davi. It was an argument with God, an encouragement of reasons, a request for your cause. It was not a declaration of doctrinal opinions, nor a narration of experiences, much less a cunning attack on other people under the intention to pray to God, although all these things and worse were replaced by holy supplications at certain prayer meetings. He struggled with the angel of the covenant with fervent petitions and, therefore, prevailed. Head and heart, judgment and affections, memory and intellect were all working to spread the case correctly before the Lord of love. What profit is there in my blood when I go to the well? You will not lose a singer from your choir and someone Who likes to exalt you? Will the dust praise you? Will it declare your Is it true? There will be one less witness to your fidelity and veracity? Spare, then, your poor unworthy one for your name!

    Verse 10

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me. A short petition and comprehensive, available in all seasons, allow us to use it with frequency. It is the prayer of the publican; may it be ours. If God hears the prayer, it is a great act of mercy; our petitions do not deserve a response. Lord, be my helper. Another compact, expressive, and always suitable prayer. It is appropriate for hundreds of cases of the people of the Lord; it is becoming well in minister when he is going to preach, for the sufferer on the bed of pain, for the worker in the field of service, for the believer under temptation, for the man of God under adversity; when God helps, the difficulties they disappear. He is the help of his people, a help that is very present in problems. The two brief petitions of this verse are praised as ejaculations to believers full of business, denied to those seasons more long hours of devotion that are the rare privilege of those whose days are spent in retirement.

    Verse 11

Observe the contrast, God removes mourning from His people; and what He gives them gives instead? Calm and peace? Yes, and much more than that. I came back to my mourning for dancing. It makes their hearts dance to the sound of its name. He takes off the burlap cloth. That's good. What a pleasure to rid oneself of the garments of misery! But what then? He dresses us. And how? With Some common dress? No, but with that royal outfit that is the matrix. of glorified spirits in heaven. You have girded me with joy. It is better than wear silk or gold fabric clothes, adorned with embroidery and ornaments of precious stones. Many poor people wear this celestial garment around your heart, although plush and corduroy are your only clothing exterior; and such a man does not need to envy the emperor in all his pomp.

Glory be to you, O God, if by a sense of complete forgiveness and justification you have enriched my spiritual nature and filled me with all plenitude of God.

    Verse 12

Until the end, that is, with this vision and intention, that my glory, that is, my tongue or my soul, may sing praises to you and not remain in silence. It would be a shameful crime if, after receiving the mercies of God, we forget to praise Him. God does not want our tongues remain idle while so many themes of gratitude are scattered around All sides. He would not have foolish children in the house. They all must sing. in the sky and, therefore, everyone must sing on earth. Let's sing with the poet: I would start the song here, And so my soul must rise: Oh, for some celestial notes to support my passions for the skies.

Senhor meu Deus, eu te darei graças por toda a eternidade.

I will praise Him in life; I will praise Him in death; I will praise him as long as he helps me breathe; And say when the dew of death cools on my forehead If I ever loved you, my Jesus, it is now.
