Salmo 36
Verse 1
The transgression of the wicked. His bold and arbitrary sin; he breaking the limits of law and justice. Says within my heart that no There is fear of God before their eyes. The sins of men have a voice to pious ears. They are the external index of an inner evil. It is clear that men who dare to sin constantly and presumptuously do not we can respect the great Judge of all. Despite the professions of men unjust, when we see their profane actions, our heart is led to conclusion that they have no religion at all. The lack of holiness is a clear evidence of impiety. Evil is the fruit of an atheistic root. This it can be made clear to a sincere mind through convincing reasoning, but it is already clear and intuitive for the merciful heart. If God is everywhere, and I fear him, how can I dare to break his laws in his presence? He must be a desperate traitor who will rebel in the corridors of the king himself.
Whatever the theoretical opinions that bad men may have to admit, they can only be classified as atheists, as they are this way practice. Those eyes that have no fear of God before them now, will have the terrors of hell before them forever.
Verse 2
Here is the argument to prove the established proposition in the previous verse. David goes over the reasoning process by which he convinced himself that wicked men do not have a proper idea of God or respect for Him. God fearing men see their sins and lament them. there, where the reverse is the case, we can be sure that there is no fear of God. He flatters himself in his own eyes. He considers himself a good subject, worthy of great respect. He silences his conscience, and thus mislead your own judgment to the point of considering yourself a standard of excellence; if not for morality, still for having common sense not to be enslaved by rules that are connections to others. He is the free thinker, the man of strong mind, the hater of song, the philosopher; and the servants of God, in their esteem, they are petty and of narrow mind. Of all flattery, this is the most absurd and dangerous. Even the silliest bird will not put traps for yourself; the most talkative lawyer will not be fooled. Smoothing one's own behavior with one's own conscience (which is the meaning of the Hebrew) to smooth one's own path to hell. The descent into eternal ruin is quite easy, without making a glissando of it, as flatterers do. See you later that your iniquity be considered hateful. Finally, he is discovered and detestable, despite its self-concept. The rot smells sooner or later. too strong to be hidden. There is a time when leprosy cannot to be hidden. Finally, the old house can no longer be supported and falls upon the tenant's ears: thus, there is a limit to self-satisfaction of man; he is found amid general contempt and can no longer maintain the farce he played so well. If this doesn't happen in this life, the hand of death will illuminate the coveted character and expose the sinner to shame and to contempt. The self-praising process clearly proves the atheism of fishermen, since the simple reflection that God sees them would make these extremely difficult, if not impossible. Belief in God, as light reveals, and then our sin and evil are perceived; but the perverse men are in the dark, because they cannot see what is so clearly within them and around them that they face it in the face. since the A simple reflection that God sees you would make such flattery appropriate. extremely difficult, if not impossible. Belief in God, like the light reveals, and then our sin and evil are perceived; but the wicked men they are in the dark because they cannot see what is so clearly inside it is around them that he faces them in the face. since the simple reflection that Deus os vê tornaria tais lisonjas próprias extremamente difíceis, se não impossible. Belief in God, as the light reveals, and then our sin and evil are perceived; but the wicked men are in the dark, because they do not they can see what is so clearly within them and around them that the still on the face.
Verse 3
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. This pair of Hellhounds usually hunt together, and what one doesn't catch, the other will. if iniquity cannot prevail through oppression, deceit will win with fraud. When the heart is as corrupted as it is to flatter, the tongue the open tomb of the throat reveals the impurity of inner nature. God fearing that men become aware of their words and, if they sin because of the illness, they will not make excuses they did not boast of their wickedness; but, as the wicked care little with evil and with cunning speeches, we can be sure that God govern. not in their souls. The original, declaring that the words of the wicked are falsehood and deceit is particularly strong; as if they were not. only false in quality, but real falseness in itself. He ceased to be wise and to do good. He completely took the wrong path. Men those who fear God go from strength to strength on the right path, but men without a god, they soon abandon the little good that they once knew. How could they Would men apostatize if they had respect for the supreme judge? It's not because they become more and more forgotten by God, who in due time they they really renounce that hypocritical reverence of those who used to be did they maintain to flatter their souls?
Verse 4
He invents evil on his bed. His resting place becomes the place to conspire. Your bed is a warm bed for weeds poisonous. God fearing that men reflect on God and His service; but when men transform all their thoughts and faculties inventiveness towards evil, your impiety is proven as a demonstration. He has the devil as his bedfellow who lies in the bed and schematizes how to sin. God is far from him. He places himself in a in a way that is not good. When he gets up, he resolutely pursues and persistently the evil he planned. The worst of the ways he prefers. to walk, because he taught his heart to love the filth, getting used to delighting in it in imagination. He does not bother the evil. Far from having a contempt and aversion to evil, he even rejoices in it and the sponsors. He never hates a wrong thing just because it is wrong, but he meditates, defends and practices. What a portrait of a bland man these few verses are. they provide us! Your joy of consciousness, your licentiousness of speech, your intention to do what is wrong, your deliberate and continuous preference for iniquity and, still, his atheistic heart, are all photographed for life.
Lord, save us from being this way.
Verses 5-9. From the lowliness of the wicked, the psalmist transforms his contemplation. for the glory of God. The contrasts are impressive.
Verse 5
Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens. Like the ethereal blue, it encompasses all the earth, smiling at universal nature, acting as a canopy for all the creatures of the earth, surpassing the highest peaks of the human provocation, and rising above the mists of transgression mortal. The clear sky is always above, and mercy smiles calmly above the noise and smoke of this poor world. Darkness and clouds are only the lowest atmospheres of the Earth: the skies are increasingly serene and brilliant with countless stars. Divine mercy remains in its vastness of vastness and incomparable patience, all unaltered by the rebellions of man. When we can measure the heavens, then we must connect to the mercy of the Lord. In relation to His own servants, especially In the salvation of the Lord Jesus, He demonstrated grace superior to the heavens above, and wider than the universe. Oh, that the atheist could not see this, how I seriously wish to become a servant of Jehovah! Your faithfulness reaches the clouds. Very far above all understanding is the truth and the fidelity of God. He never fails, nor forgets, nor hesitates, nor breaks His word.
Afflictions are like clouds, but divine truth is all around them.
While we are under the cloud, we are in the region of fidelity God; when we climb above, we will not need such a guarantee. For each word of threat, or promise, prophecy or covenant, the Lord has exactly adhered, for he is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man for him to repent. Much beyond all understanding is the truth and faithfulness of God. He never fails, nor forgets, nor hesitates, does not break his word. Afflictions are like clouds, but the truth divine is around them. While we are under the cloud, we are in the God's faithfulness region; when we ascend, we will not need to such guarantee. For every word of threat, or promise, prophecy or alliance, the The Lord has exactly adhered, for he is not a man that he should. to lie, not even the son of man so that he may repent. Far above all understanding is the truth and faithfulness of God. He never fails, nor forget, do not hesitate, do not lose your word. Afflictions are like clouds, but the divine truth is around them. While we are under the cloud, We are in the region of God's faithfulness; when we rise above, we do not. we will need such a guarantee. For every word of threat, or promise, prophecy or covenant, the Lord has exactly adhered to, for he is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent repent. For every word of threat, or promise, prophecy or covenant, the The Lord has exactly adhered, for he is not a man that he should. to lie, nor the son of man that he should repent. For every word of threat, or promise, prophecy or covenant, the Lord has exactly adhered, for he is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man to that he regrets it.
Verse 6
Your righteousness is like the great mountains. Firm and immovable, sublime the sublime. Just as winds and hurricanes do not shake an Alp, neither does justice God is never affected by circumstances; he is always just. Who can bribe the Judge of all the earth, or whoever can, threatening, forcing him to pervert judgment? Not even to save His elect, the Lord would allow your righteousness to be annulled. No reverence inspired by mountain landscape can be the same as that which fills the soul when it sees the Son of God died as a victim to claim the justice of the Legislator Inflexible. On the other side of the path of every profane man who dreams of the sky is imposing Andes of divine justice, which no unregenerated sinner can climb.
Among the great mountains are sleepy avalanches, and there... young lightning experiences their wings until the storm rushes in two terrible peaks; thus, against the great day of the Lord's wrath the Lord he placed in the mountains of his justice, terrible war ammunition, with the to subjugate your adversaries. Your judgments are very deep. The the relationship of God with men should not be understood by everyone braggart who demands to see a reason for all this. The Lord should not be questioned by us about why this and why that. He has reasons, but do not choose to submit them to our foolish consideration. Distant and wide, terrible As irresistible as the ocean are the providential dispensations of God: in At some moments, they seem as peaceful as the glassy sea. wavy; in another it played with storm and whirlwind, but always more glorious and full of mystery. Who will discover the sources of the sea? The one who to do this may wait to understand the providence of the Eternal.
Uncharted Sea!
In their dark, unknown, and mysterious caves, And incredibly deep secret hauntings, Below all visible retirees, none has come back again to count the wonders there.
However, as the deep reflects the sky, the mercy of the Lord must to be seen reflected in all the arrangements of your government on earth, and in the deep depth the rainbow of the alliance casts its bow of comfort, for The Lord is faithful in all He does. O Lord, You preserve man and the best. All the myriads of creatures, rational and irrational, are fed by the hand of Jehovah. The countless beasts, the innumerable birds, the inconceivable abundance of fish, the endless armies of insects, all they owe their continuation of life to the incessant manifestations of divine power. That God's vision presents this to us! What a depraved creature he must be, who does not sees traces of such a God, and does not feel admiration for Him!
7. How excellent is your goodness, O God. Here we enter the Holy dos Santos. Benevolence, and mercy, and justice, are everywhere, but the excellence of this mercy belongs only to those whose faith has lifted the veil and has passed into the brightest presence of the Lord; these contemplate the excellence of the mercy of the Lord. The word translated as excellent can be translated as 'precious'; no jewel or pearl can be equal in value to a sense of the Lord's love. This is as bright as the angels use. King's privileges are a collection of useless pebbles when compared to the tender mercies of Jehovah. David could not to estimate and, therefore, after adding a note of admiration, he left our hearts and imagination, and better yet, our experience, to fill in the rest. He writes like an excellent! Because he can't tell us. half of this. Therefore the children of men trust in the shadow of your The best of reasons for the best of courses. The figure is very beautiful.
The Lord overshadows His people like a hen protects her brood, or like an eagle covers its chicks; and we, like the little ones, run under the blessed shelter and we feel at rest. To lower oneself under the wings of God It is so sweet. Although the enemy is too strong for us, we are not afraid, for we nestle under the wings of the Lord. Oh what more of the race of Adam you know the excellence of the celestial shelter! This made Jesus cry and see how they refused: our tears may mourn the same evil. The Lord it obscures its people like a hen protects her chicks, or like an eagle cover your cubs; and we, like the little ones, run under the shelter blessed and we feel at rest. To lower oneself under the wings of God is so sweet. Although the enemy is too strong for us, we are not afraid, for we we nestle under the wings of the Lord. Oh, that more of Adam's race would know the excellence of the heavenly shelter! This made Jesus cry and see how they they refused: our tears may mourn the same evil. The race knew of the excellence of the celestial shelter!
This made Jesus weep and see how they refused: our tears can to lament the same evil.
Verse 8
They will be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of your house.
Those who learn to place their trust in God will be received. in their home and will participate in the provision established therein. The dwelling of the The Lord is not limited to any place and, therefore, resides where we can. we can consider our dwelling, if we are believers, as a room in the great house of the Lord; and we, both in providence and in grace, we will find a store that satisfies the soul and is provided to us as result of living by faith in the closeness of the Lord. If we consider the assembly of the saints as being peculiarly the house of God, the believers they will find, in fact, in the sacred worship, the richest spiritual nourishment.
Blessed is the soul that can drink from the sumptuous delicacies of the gospel nothing can completely fill the soul. And you must make them drink of the river of your pleasures. How they have the fruits of Eden to they will be fed, thus they will have the river of Paradise to drink. The eternal love of God brings us a constant and vast comfort, from which grace makes us drink. through faith, and then our pleasure is of the richest kind. The Lord not only gives us bring this river to us, but make us drink: here we see the condescension of love divine. Heaven, in the fullest sense, will fulfill these words; but those Those who trust in the Lord enjoy the appetizer even here. The given happiness. to the faithful is from God Himself; purified spirits rejoice in it joy that the Lord himself. "That my joy may be in you, so that that your joy may be complete.
Verse 9
For with you is the fountain of life. This verse is made of words. simple, but like the first chapter of the Gospel of John, it is very deep. From the Lord, as from a self-sufficient and independent spring, the entire life of the creature progresses, it is sustained by him, only through him can be improved. Life is in the creature, but its source is only in the Creator. Of spiritual life, this is true in the most emphatic sense; 'it is the Spirit that gives life, and we are dead, and our life is hidden with Christ in God. In your light we shall see the light. The light is the glory of life. Life In the dark, there is misery and, rather, death than life. Only the Lord can give life. natural, intellectual and spiritual; only he can make life bright and shining.
In spiritual matters, the knowledge of God illuminates all others.

10. Continue your kindness to those who know you. We ask no more than that a continuation of the mercy of the past. Lord, extend this yours thanks to every day of all those who were taught to know your love faithful, your tenderness, your immutability and omnipotence. How they were taught by the Lord to know the Lord, continue to instruct them and perfecting them. This prayer is the heart of the believer, asking precisely that which the heart of your God is prepared to grant. It's okay when the petition is merely a reflection of the promise. And your justice towards the challenges of the heart. Just as you have never failed the just, may it remain the same. a way that your defender and avenger. The worst thing to be feared by man To be abandoned by God is to be forsaken from heaven, hence this prayer; but fear is infused peace that faith brings us. Learn from this verse that, although the continuation of mercy is guaranteed in the covenant, still we need to make this a matter of prayer. For this good thing, Lord will be investigated.
Verse 11
Do not let the foot of pride come against me. The general prayer is here. transformed into something particular and personal for oneself. Pride is the devil's sin. Good men can very well be afraid of men. proud, for the seed of the serpent will never cease to bite the heel two pious ones. The proud mockers despise the saints or the run over underfoot: against your malevolent prayer raise your voice. None for He will come upon us, no hand will prevail against us, while Jehovah is. on our side. Do not let the hand of the wicked remove me. Do not let me be driven like a fugitive, nor torn from my place like a tree start. The violence with both hands and feet, with just means and stingy, he fought to bring down the psalmist, but he turns to his great patron and sings a song of triumph in anticipation of his defeat enemies.
Verse 12
There are the fallen workers of iniquity. Faith sees them. scattered on the plain. There! before our eyes, sin, death, and hell, lying prostrate. Behold the defeated enemies! They are overcome. providence and grace took them out of the advantageous ground. Jesus has already played all the enemies of your people in their faces and, in due time, all sinners they must find him like this. And he will not be able to rise. The defeat of the wicked and of the powers of evil is final, total, irretrievable. Glory to God, no matter how great the powers of darkness, can take you to this present, speeds up the time in which God will defend the right and will give evil such a fall that it will crush it forever hopes of hell; while those who trust in the Lord will praise Him they will rejoice forever in their holy name.
