Psalm 41
Verse 1
Blessed is the one who considers the poor. This is the third opening of the Psalm with a blessing, and there is a growth in it beyond the two primeiros. Pesquisar a palavra de Deus vem em primeiro lugar, o pecado forgiven is the second, and now the forgiven sinner produces fruits for God, available for the good of others. The word used is as emphatic as in the previous cases, as well as the blessing that follows it. The poorly intended they are poor in substance, weak in physical strength, despised in reputation and discouraged in spirit. These are mainly avoided and frequently despised. The worldly proverb leaves the most superficial for those who have no mercy. The sick and the lamentable are poor, and the the world abandons us when the Amalekite leaves his dying servant. Such How were participants of divine grace made to receive a nature and not they are hardened against their own flesh and blood; they take up the cause of the oppressed and turn their minds seriously to the promotion of their well-being.
They don't spend a dime on them and go on their way, but investigate their sorrows sift their cause, studying the best paths for their relief, and they practically come to your aid: such as these have the mark of favor divinely clearly over them, and they are surely the sheep of the Lord they are so surely the sheep of the Lord they are so surely the sheep of the Lord pasture as if they were using a mark on their foreheads. Do not says that they considered the poor years ago, but still do so. old-fashioned benevolence, when it boasts, argues that brutality current exists.
First of all, yes, far above all the others, gathered in tenderness Compassion for the needy is our Lord Jesus, who remembered so much of our low state, that, although it was rich, it became poor because of our cause. All of its attributes were loaded with the task of our elevation. He weighed our case and came in the fullness of wisdom to execute the marvelous work of mercy by which we are redeemed from our destructions. Misery stirred his pity, misery moved his mercy, and three times blessed is he both by his God and his saints for his care attentive and wise action for us. He still considers us; His mercy is always in the present, and so may our praises be.

The promise is not that the generous saint will have no problems, but he will be preserved in him and, in the due time, brought out of it. How true was our Lord! never be more deeply or triumphantly concerned than his, and glory be to his name, he ensures the final victory of all his bought by blood. Verse 2
The Lord will preserve you and keep you alive. Your noblest life will be immortal and even your mortal life will be sacred and guarded by the power of Jehovah.
Jesus lived until the hour he arrived, nor the tricks of the cunning Herod did him. they took life until the appointed hour. and yet, no man took the his life, but he did it of himself, to take it again. Here is the portion of all those who are made like your Lord, they bless and they will be blessed, they preserve and will be preserved, they take care of lives of others and they themselves will be precious in the eyes of the Lord. The greedy as the pig is useless until it is dead - so let it be to die; the righteous like the ox is useful during life - so let him live. And he will be blessed on earth. Prosperity shall attend you. Your jar of olive oil he will not dry up because he fed the poor prophet. He will cut from his scroll of fabric and you will find this longer at both ends.
There was a man, and some considered him mad, The more he donated, the more he had.
If the temporal gains are not given to him, the spiritual ones will be doubled. for him. His little one will be blessed, bread and water will be a feast for They. The liberals are and should be blessed up to this point; they have a portion present and future. The true blessing from the heart of our Lord in joy what was placed before him is a subject worthy of sincere thought, especially because it is the image of the blessing that all liberal saints release you can search. And you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. Helped the anguished and now will find a champion in your God. What the Wouldn't the enemies of a good man do so if he had it at his disposal? It's better. to be in a hole with vipers than to be at the mercy of pursuers. This the sentence places before us a sweet negative, and yet it was not easy you've seen how this could be true for our Lord Jesus, haven't you? we knew that, although he was exempt from a lot of blessing, being made curse by us, but even he was not completely or forever left by God, but in due time was exalted above all his enemies.
Verse 3
The Lord will strengthen him on the bed of languishing. The eternal arms they will remain in your soul as friendly hands and soft pillows they stay in the patient's body. How affectionate and nice is this image; how near this brings our God to our illnesses and diseases!
Whoever has heard this about the ancient pagan Jew, or about the gods of India or China? This is a language peculiar to the God of Israel; he is the one who deigns to be a nurse and care for good men. If he to wound with one hand, he supports with the other. Oh, it is blessed to faint when someone falls upon the bosom of the Lord and is carried by Him! A grace is the best of restorers; divine love is the noblest stimulant for a patient who is wasting away; makes the soul strong like a giant, even when the aching bones are breaking through the skin. No doctor like the No tonic like your promise, no wine like your love.
You will make his whole bed in his illness. What the Lord does as creator of bed for your sick children? Here is love, in fact. Who doesn't Would the poor be considered if this were the promised reward? A bed logo fica dura quando o corpo está cansado de se mexer, mas a graça dá patience, and the smile of God brings peace, and the bed becomes soft because of the heart the man is happy; the cushions are fluffy because the head is peaceful. Note that the Lord will make your entire bed, from head to foot. That kind, attentive and tireless! Our dear and always blessed Lord Jesus, although in every way he is an heir of this promise, by our cause condescends to renounce the blessing and died on a cross and not in a bed; however, even there, he was supported after some time and applauded by the Lord your God, so that he died in triumph.
We should not imagine that the blessing pronounced in these three verses is of everyone who casually gives money to the poor, or leaves it with them wills, or contribute to societies. Such do well, or act in my costume, as the case may be, but they are not referred to here. The blessing is for those whose habit is to love their neighbor as themselves and who, out of love to Christ, they feed the hungry and clothe the naked. Imagine a man to to be a saint who does not consider the poor as he is able, is to conceive the fig tree without fruit as being acceptable; there will be a sharp dealing with many professors at this point of the day when the king comes in his glory.
Verses 4-9. Here we have a controversy between the defender and his God.
He has been a tender friend to the poor, and yet, at the time of his need, the promised assistance was not granted. In the case of our Sir, there was a dark and gloomy night when such arguments were indeed consistent with him and his condition.
Verse 4
I said - I said in fervent prayer - Lord, be merciful with me. Prove now your connections with my soul in adversity, since for you have already granted me grace to act freely in my prosperity. None the appeal is made to justice; the petitioner, but hints at the promised reward, but go straight to lay your foundation at the feet of mercy. How Below our Redeemer was brought when such petitions could come from His. reverend mouth, when your lips like lilies fell so fragrant, but Bitter myrrh! Heal my soul. My time of withering has come, now do as you said and strengthen me, especially in my soul.
We must be much more sincere for the healing of the soul than for the ease of the body. We hear a lot about the healing of souls, but often we forgot to worry about this. Because I sinned against you. Here I was the root of sadness. Sin and suffering are inevitable companions. Observe that, according to the psalmist, sin was considered primarily evil because directed against God. This is the essence of true repentance. The Immaculate Salvador could never have used a language like this, the unless there is a reference here to the sin that he took upon himself by imputation; and on our part we tremble to apply words that they manifestly indicate personal sin and not imputed. Applying the petition David and other sinful believers, how strangely evangelical it is argument: I was cured, not because I am innocent, but because I sinned. How the opposite is true for all self-righteous supplicants! How consistent with the grace! How inconsistent with merit! Even the fact that the penitent to confess having remembered the poor is only indirectly instigated, but a direct appeal is made to mercy based on great sin. Oh trembling reader, here is a divinely revealed precedent for you, not I had to follow him.
Verse 5
My enemies speak badly of me. It was in their nature to do and say. but it was not possible for the Son of God to escape from them. The viper it fixed on Paul's hand: the better the man, the more likely and more venomous to slander. Evil tongues are busy in tongues and never they deal with the truth. Jesus was translated to the maximum, although none offense was in him. When will he die and his name perish? They will not they could be happy until he was absent. The world is not wide enough for bad men to live while the righteous remain, Yes, the bodily presence of the saints may have disappeared, but their memory is an offense to your enemies. England has never been cheerful, they say, since men went to the corner of the Psalm. In the case of Master, they shouted: "Get such a fellow out of the land, it is not fitting that She lives."If the pursuers could do what they wanted, the church should having only one neck, and this should be on the block. The thieves would erase all the candles. The lights of the world are not the delights of the world. Bats blind and poor, they fly to the lamp and try to knock it down; but the Lord live and preserve the saints and their names.
Verse 6
And if he comes to see me, he speaks of vanity. His sympathy visits. they are visits of mockery. When the fox calls the sick lamb, its words are soft, but he licks his lips in hope of the carcass. It is a miserable work having spies haunting the bedroom, calling with the pretense of kindness, but with malice in their hearts. The speech hypocrite is always repulsive and disgusting to honest men, but especially for the suffering saint. Our divine Lord had a lot of this two false hearts that watched your words. Your heart joins the iniquity for oneself. Like the will to like. The bird makes its nest. of sorrows. Among the sweetest flowers, chemists can distill poison and, from the purest words and actions, malice can gather the foundations for a slanderous report. It is perfectly wonderful how spite does not produce no material. It's not a small attempt to have people around you. watch out for any word that could pervert into evil. The Master to whom He was constantly subject to this affliction. When he goes to the foreigner, he says that. He makes his lies and then sells them in the market. open. Barely leaves home than leaves with your lie, and this against a man sick person he called to see as a friend - a sick man to whom incoherent and random speeches must be demonstrated. Ah, wretched of Black heart! A demon pup indeed. How far will men go in exterior to publish your slanders! They would love to put the sky with your falsehoods. A small mistake is made very often; a slip of the tongue is an indictment, An error is a crime, and if a word can have two meanings, the worst it is always generated by her. Say in Gath, publish in Askelon, that the daughters two uncircumcised may triumph. It is essential to attack a man when he is fallen, but this is the meanness of humanity in relation to a Christian hero if for some time he is under a cloud.
Verse 7
All who hate me whisper together against me. The spy find your companions in the conclave and place them all in a whisper. By What could they not talk about? Were they afraid of the sick warrior? Or Were your drawings so treacherous that they needed to be shocked in secret?
Mark the unanimity of the wicked - everything. How cordially the dogs come together to Hunt the deer! Could it be that God was half united in the holy work as pursuers in their malicious projects, and we were somewhat wise when experts, for their whisper was craft and cowardice, the conspiracy must not to be known until everything is ready. They plan against me my sorrow. They put their heads together, scheme and plot. Thus he did Ahithophel and the rest of Absalom's advisors, as well as the leaders priests and pharisees. Bad men are good at inventing; they are given in meditation, they are deep thinkers, but the mark they aim for is, increasingly but the sorrow of the faithful. Snakes in the grass are never there for a good ending.
8. A malignant disease, they say, clings to him. They whisper that some curse has fallen upon him and is fascinated by him. They insinuate that a dirty secret stains your character, the ghost that haunts your house, and it can never be placed. An air of mystery is cast around this saying doubly dark, as if to show how indistinct they are whispers of malice. Even so, our Lord was considered 'wounded'. by God and afflicted." His enemies conceived that God had abandoned and handed him over forever into their hands. And now that he is already he will not rise again. They hoped his illness would be fatal, and that was a great news for them. No more would the holiness of the good man go to reprimand your sin, they would now be free from the control of your pity. As the friars around Wycliffe's bed His prophecies were more jubilant than you need, but they were a painful scourge for the sick. When the Lord strikes His people with His rod of affliction for a small moment, your enemies expect to see you executed by capital, and prepare your jubilates to celebrate their funerals, but they are very they have to change their ditties and sing to another song. Our The Redeemer foresaw this eminently, for from his lie in the grave he... gloriously resurrected. The clock, the stone, the seal go! He is raising disperse confusion among your enemies and you must alter your songs and sing for another song. Our Redeemer eminently foresaw this, for from His Lie in the tomb he gloriously resurrected. Go the clock, the stone, the Hello! Raising it spills confusion on his enemies. And it needs to change. your songs and sing to another song. Our Redeemer eminently Foreseeing this, for from his lie in the grave he gloriously resurrected.
Go the clock, the stone, the seal! Raising it spills confusion in its enemies.
Verse 9

The kiss of the traitor wounded the heart of our Lord as much as a unha feriu sua mão. Em quem eu confiava. Judas foi o tesoureiro do colégio apostolic. Where we place great trust, an undelicate act is the most severely felt. That ate from my bread. Not just as a guest, but as a dependent, as a pensioner of my council. Judas plunged into the same plate with your Lord and, therefore, the more cursed was the your betrayal, sold your Master for the price of a slave. Raised the heel against me. Not only did you turn your back on me, but you left me with a heavy kick, like a cruel horse could give. It is difficult that it is rejected in our need by those who once fed on our table. It is worth noting that the Redeemer only applied the last words from this verse to Judas, perhaps because, knowing his duplicity, never had made him a familiar friend in the fullest sense, and had not placed in it implicit trust. The infernal malice planned that all the circumstances of Jesus' death added absinthe to it; and the betrayal was one of the bitterest drops of galls. We are indeed unfortunate when our former friend becomes our relentless enemy when trust is betrayed, when all the rites of hospitality are perverted, and ingratitude it is the only return for kindness; however, in such a deplorable case, we can cast ourselves into the faithfulness of God, who has delivered our Head of the Alliance, is actually committed to being a very present help of all those to whom this covenant was made.
10. But you, O Lord, are merciful to me. Like the hunted soul and scared, she turns back to her God! How she seems to breathe with a 'but, you!" How she clings to the hope of God's mercy when all the the chances of man's pity are gone! And I rise. Recover me from my disease, give me to recover my position. Jesus was raised from grave; your descent was ended by an ascent. May I be able to reward them. This, as it is read, is a truly Old Testament sentence.
Testament, and beyond the spirit of Christianity, we must still remember that David was a person in teaching, and could do so without any revenge people, I wish to punish those who had insulted your authority and defamed your public character. Our great Apostle and High Priest does not he had personal animosities, but even he, by his resurrection, required the powers of evil and took revenge in death and in hell all their attacks basics to your cause and person. Even so, the forced application of each the sentence of this Psalm to Christ is not to our liking, and we prefer to call it attention to the best spirit of the gospel beyond that of the old dispensation.
Verse 11
We are all applauded by signs, and the psalmist found it was a auspicious omen, that after all his deep depression, he does not was completely given to your enemy. With this I know that you favor me. You you have special regard for me, I have this secret certainty in my heart, and therefore, its foreign relations do not discourage me, for I know that I love in all of them. Because my enemy does not triumph over me. And if if the believer does not have triumph over his enemies, he should be content for not to triumph over him. If we do not have everyone, we must praise God for everything what we have. There is much in us that the wicked can rejoice about, and if the the mercy of God keeps the dog's mouth closed when it can be Open, we must give you our sincerest gratitude. How wonderful it is that when the devil enters the list with a poor saint, wandering, bedridden, deserted, slandered, and he has a thousand more tongues to help him, still he cannot to conquer the day, but in the end it slips away without renown.
The weakest saint will win the day Although death and hell obstruct path 12. And as for me, despite all of them and in the sight of all of them, you me sustained me in my integrity; your power allows me to rise above the scope of slander, living in purity and righteousness. Our innocence and consistency is the result of divine defense. We are like those glasses without feet, which can only stand while being held in hand; we we fell, and spilled and ruined everything, if we go for ourselves. The The Lord must be praised every day if we are preserved from sin. rude. When others sin, they show us what we should do, except by grace. "He today and I tomorrow," was the exclamation of a man. saint, whenever he saw another fall into sin. Our integrity is comparative and dependent; therefore, we must be humble while we thank you. If we are free from the alleged failures against us by the our slanderers, however, we have enough true criticism to make it shameful for us to take pride. And let me sit before you to always. He was happy to live under divine watch; care, care and smile for your Lord; and even more, that it would be so world without end. Being being in the presence of a terrestrial monarch is considered a unique honor, but what it must be a perpetual courtier in the palace of the Eternal, Immortal King, Invisible? But what must it be to be a perpetual courtier in the King's palace?
Eternal, Immortal, Invisible? But what must it be to be a perpetual courtier in Palace of the Eternal, Immortal, Invisible King?
Verse 13
The Psalm ends with a doxology. Blessed be the Lord, this Oh, be glorified. The blessing at the beginning from the mouth of God is returned from the mouth of your servant. We cannot add to the Lord's beatitude, but we can pour out our grateful desires, and he accepts them, to receiving small gifts of flowers from children who love us. Jehovah is the personal name of our God. God of Israel is his covenant title, and show your special relationship with your chosen people. From eternity to eternity. A strongest way to express infinite duration. We die, but the glory of God continues without stopping. Amen and amen. So let him be safe, firmness and eternity. Thus the people joined in the Psalm for a double sacred affirmation cry; let us unite with all hearts. This the last verse can serve for the prayer of the universal church in all times, but no one can sing as sweetly as those who they experienced how David demonstrated God's faithfulness in times of extreme.
