    Salmo 32

    Verse 1

Blessed. Like the Sermon on the Mount on the mountain, this Psalm começa com bem-aventuranças. Este é o segundo Salmo de bênção. O the first psalm describes the result of the holy blessing, the thirty-second details his cause. The first depicts the tree in full growth, this it represents in its first planting and irrigation. He who in the first Psalm is a reader of the book of God, is here a supplicant at the throne of God, accepted and Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven. He is now blessed and always will be. Whether he is always so poor, or sick, or sad, he It is truly blessed. To forgive mercy is that all things in the world be more valued, for it is the only and certain path to happiness.

To hear from the Spirit of God the words 'I absolve you' is a joy. inexpressible. Blessedness is not, in this case, attributed to the man who has been a diligent keeper of the law, for then he would never come to us, but rather a transgressor of the law, who was forgiven by the richer and freer grace. The self-righteous Pharisees have no part in this beatitude. About the return of prodigal, the word of welcome is pronounced here, and the music and the dance they begin. A total, instant, and irreversible forgiveness of the transgression transforms the hell of the poor sinner into heaven, and makes the heir of wrath a participant of the blessing. The processed word forgiven is in the original. removal or withdrawal, when a burden is lifted or a barrier is removed removed. What an elevator is here! It cost our Savior a sweat of blood bore our burden, yes, it cost him his life to bear it completely. Samson took the gates of Gaza, but what was that for the weight that Jesus bore on our behalf? Whose sin is covered. Covered by God, as the ark was covered by the mercy seat, as Noah was covered by deluge, as the Egyptians were covered by the depths of the sea. That coverage must be that which hides forever from the sight of those who see the God, all the filth of the flesh and of the spirit! He who once saw the sin in its horrible deformity, will appreciate the happiness of not seeing it anymore forever. The atonement of Christ is the propitiation, the covering, the end of coverage should be that which hides forever from the sight of those who see the God, all the filth of the flesh and of the spirit! He who has once seen the sin in its horrible deformity will appreciate the happiness of not seeing it anymore forever. The atonement of Christ is the propitiation, the covering, the end of coverage must be that which hides forever from the sight of those who see God, all the filth of the flesh and of the spirit! He who has once seen the sin in its horrible deformity will appreciate the happiness of not seeing it anymore forever. The atonement of Christ is the propitiation, the covering, the end of pecado; onde isso é visto e confiado, a alma sabe que agora é aceita no Beloved and, therefore, enjoys a conscious bliss that is the foreboding of heaven. It is clear in the text that a man can know that he is forgiven: where would the bliss of an unknown forgiveness be?

Clearly, it is a matter of knowledge, as it is the foundation of comfort.

    Verse 2

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity.

The blessed word is in the plural, oh, the beatitudes! the doubles joys, the beams of happiness, the mountains of delight! Note the three words so often used to denote our disobedience: transgression, sin and iniquity are the three heads of dogs at the gates of hell, but the our glorious Lord has silenced your barks forever against yours own believers. The trinity of sin is overcome by the Trinity of heaven. non-imputation is of the essence of forgiveness: the believer sins, but his sin is not counted, it is not considered for him. Certain divine beings foam at mouth with anger against the imposed justice, let it be ours to see our sin not imputed, and for us there can be as Paul says: 'Imputed justice without "works". He is truly blessed who has a substitute to represent him. therefore, for whose account all your debts can be established. And in whose there is no deceit in spirit. He who is forgiven, in all cases, has been taught a lidar honestly with myself, with my sin and with my God. The forgiveness is not a farce, and the peace it brings is not caused by the practice of tricks with awareness. Self-deception and hypocrisy do not bring welladventure, they can drug the soul in hell with pleasant dreams, but in the sky of true peace they cannot lead their victim. Free from guilt, free of cunning. Those who are justified by guilt are sanctified by falsehood. A liar is not a forgiven soul. Betrayal, double dealing, chicanery, dissimulation are traits of the children of the devil, but he who is washed from sin is sincere, honest, simple, and childlike. Not there may be bliss for the rogues with their plans and tricks, and shuffle and pretend: they are very afraid of discovery to feel at ease; your house is built on the edge of the volcano, and eternal destruction must be yours part. Observe the three words to describe sin and the three words for represent forgiveness, weigh them well and note their meaning. (See note on final.

Verses 3-5. David now gives us his own experience: no instructor is as efficient as one who testifies to what he personally knows and He writes well those who, like the spider, spins its matter outside of its own entrails.

    Verse 3

When I kept silent. When, due to negligence, I failed to confess, or out of desperation I did not dare to do it, my bones, those solids pillars of my structure, the strongest parts of my constitution corporal, aged, began to decline with weakness, for my pain it was as intense as to weaken my health and destroy my energy vital. What a killing thing is sin! It's a pestilential disease! A fire in the bones! While we suffocate our sin, it rages and, like a wound grows, swells horribly and torments terribly. Through my roaring all day. He remained silent about the confession, but not about the sadness. Horror at his great guilt led David to incessant lamentations, until her voice was no longer like the articulated speech of man, but so full of sighs and moans, which sounded like the hoarse roar of a beast wound. No one knows the pains of conviction, but those who. they supported. The rack, the wheel, the blazing fire are easily compared to the Tophet that a guilty conscience ignites within the chest: better to suffer all the diseases that the flesh inherits, than to be under the overwhelming sense of the wrath of the Almighty God. The Spanish Inquisition with all its tortures it was nothing compared to the inquiry that the conscience keep it in your heart.

    Verse 4

Day and night your hand weighed upon me. The finger of God can us crush - what his hand must be, and that pressing hard and continuously! Under the terrors of conscience, men have little rest at night, for the dark thoughts of the day follow them to their rooms and haunt their dreams, or else they stay awake in a cold sweat of fear. The hand of God is very useful when it is raised, but it is horrible when pressed: better a world on the shoulder, like Atlas, of may the hand of God be in the heart, like David. My humidity is transformed in the summer drought. The sap of her soul was dry, and the body through sympathy seemed to be deprived of its necessary fluids. The oil almost disappeared from the lamp of life, and the flame flickered as if it were about to expire in brief. An unconfessed transgression, like a fierce poison, dried the source of man's strength and made him like a tree struck by lightning, or like a plant wilted by the scorching heat of a tropical sun. Oh! for a poor soul, when it learned its sin, but forgets its Salvador, it's hard to do it. Selah It was time to change the melody, because the notes are very low on the scale and, with such use, the harp strings are out of order: the next verse will certainly be played in another key or rehearsed but a cheerful subject.

    Verse 5

I acknowledged my sins to you. After a long time, the broken heart thought about what it should have done in the beginning and revealed its I stand before the Lord. The lancet should be left in the collection ulcer beforehand. that relief may be granted. The least we can do, if to be forgiven is to acknowledge our guilt; if we are too proud to Yes, we deserve punishment.

And I did not hide my iniquity. We must confess our guilt, as well as the fact of sin. It is useless to hide it, for it is well known by God; it is beneficial for us to possess it, for a complete confession softens and humbles the heart.

We must uncover, as much as possible, the secrets of the soul, unearth the hidden treasure of Achan and, in weight and measure, reveal our sins. I said. This was his fixed resolution. I will confess my transgressions to Lord. Not to my peers, nor to the high priest, but to Jehovah; even on those days of symbolism, the faithful awaited only God liberation from the intolerable burden of sin, much more now, when the types and the shadows disappeared with the appearance of dawn. When the soul determining whether to lie down and plead guilty, acquittal is near; therefore And you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Not only the sin was forgiven, but his iniquity; the virus of his guilt was set aside, and this immediately, as soon as the recognition was made. The indulgences of God they are deep and complete: the knife of mercy cuts the roots of the weed the bane of sin.

Selah Another pause is necessary, as the subject is not how it can be in a hurry.

Pause, my soul, I adore and admire, Ask, why this love for me?

Grace put me on Salvador's family number.

    Hallelujah!

Thank you, eternal thank you to you.

    Verse 6

Therefore let all who are godly pray to you at the time when found fores. If the psalmist means that, because of God's mercy, others would become hopeful, his testimony is true. Answers Remarkable prayers greatly accelerate the prayers of other pious people. Where a man finds a gold nugget, others feel inclined to dig.

The benefit of our experience for others should reconcile us with this. Without a doubt, David's case led thousands of people to seek the Man with hopeful courage who, without such an instance to encourage them, could have died in despair. Perhaps the psalmist wanted this favor or something similar that all the pious souls would seek, and here, again, we can confirm your testimony, for all will draw near to God the same way he did when pity ruled his heart.

The propitiatory is the path to heaven for all who come there. There is, in meanwhile, a set time for prayer, beyond which it will be useless; between the time of sin and the day of punishment, mercy governs the hour, and God it can be found, but when the sentence is pronounced, the plea will be useless, for the Lord will not be found by the condemned soul. Oh dear reader, do not shorten the accepted time, do not waste the day of salvation. The the pious pray while the Lord promises to respond, do not waste the day of salvation. The devout pray while the Lord promises to respond, not waste the day of salvation. The righteous pray while the Lord promises the wicked delay their petitions until the Master of the house rises and close the door, and then their knock is too late. What a blessing to be guided to seek the Lord before the great devouring torrents come out of your silence, for when they appear, we will be safe. Surely in the inundações das grandes águas não se chegarão a ele. As inundações virão e as waves will rage, crashing like the waves of the Atlantic; whirlpools and water spouts will be everywhere, but the man of prayer will be at a safe distance, surely safe from all evil. David was probably more familiar with those great land floods that fill, with rushing torrents, the riverbeds that at other times are almost dry: these overflowing waters frequently caused great damage and, As in the case of the Kishon, they were enough to sweep entire armies away. sudden and overwhelming disasters, thus established in the metaphor, the A true supplicant will certainly be kept safe. He who is Saved from sin, one does not need to fear anything else.

    Verse 7

You are my hiding place. Concise, short sentences compose this verse. but they contain a world of meaning. Personal claims about the our God is the joy of spiritual life. To place our hand on the Lord with the closure of a personal 'mine' is to fully delight oneself. Note that the the same man who was oppressed by the presence of God in the fourth verse, here find a shelter in him. See what honest confession and total forgiveness they will! The gospel of substitution makes him our refuge that, from another way, would be our judge. You will protect me from problems. The problem will not cause me real harm when the Lord is with me, on the contrary, it will will bring a lot of benefits, like the file that removes rust, but not destroys the metal. Observe the three times, we note the sad past, the last The phrase was a joyful gift, This is a joyful future. You surround me with songs of liberation. What a golden phrase! Man is surrounded by songs, surrounded by merciful dances, all proclaiming the triumphs of grace.

    Verse 8

I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go. Here the The Lord is the speaker and gives the psalmist an answer to his prayer. Our Salvador is our instructor. The Lord Himself deigns to teach His children to walk in the path of integrity, your sacred word and the blessings of The Holy Spirit is the director of the believer's daily conversation. We are not forgiven so that we can henceforth live according to our own concupiscências, mas para que possamos ser educados em santidade e trained to perfection. A heavenly training is one of the blessings of alliance that adoption sealed us: "All your children will be taught by "Sir." Practical teaching is the best form of instruction, and they are three times happy, despite never having sat at the feet of Gamaliel and being ignorant of Aristotle and the ethics of the schools. Nevertheless, I learned to follow the Lamb wherever quer que ele vá. Eu te guiarei com o meu olho. Como os servos tomam a it's up to the master's eye, and a nod or a wink is all they they demand, so we must obey the slightest hint of our Master, do we not needing rays to scare our incorrigible slowness, but being controlled by whispers and touches of love. The Lord is the great supervisor, whose eye in providence neglects everything. It is good that we are the sheep of the your pasture, following the guidance of your wisdom. but being controlled by whispers and touches of love. The Lord is the great overseer, whose eye on providence neglects everything. It is good that we are the sheep of its pasture, following the guidance of your wisdom. but being controlled by whispers and touches of love. The Lord is the great supervisor, whose eye is on providence Negligence in everything. It is good that we are the sheep of your pasture, following the guidance of your wisdom.

    9. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding. The understanding separates man from a brute - let's not act as if we were without him. Men must advise and consult each other and be ready to run where wisdom points the way. Alas! we need to be warned against the foolishness of the heart, for we are very ready to fall for this. We who must be like the angels, promptly we we become like beasts. Whose mouth must be held with bit and bridle, to that do not approach you. It is very lamentable that so often we must be strictly punished before we obey. We must to be like a feather in the wind, floating readily on the breath of the Spirit Holy, but there! we lied like motionless trunks, and we did not move with the sky in sight. Those sharp pieces of anguish show how much we are rude, those bursts of illness manifest our ways stubborn and willful. We should not be treated like mules if there wouldn't be so much about us. If we are going to be fragile, we must wait to be kept on a short leash. Oh, for the grace to obey the Lord willingly, so that we do not like the voluntary servant, we are beaten with many stripes. Calvino presents the last words: "So that they do not kick against you", a more likely and natural version, but the passage is confessedly obscure - not, however, in its general sense.

    Verse 10

Many sorrows shall be for the wicked. Like horses and mules dishes, they have many cuts and bruises. Here and in the future, the portion of the the impious are undesirable. Their joys are evanescent, their sorrows become they multiply and mature. He who sows sin will reap sadness in heavy burdens. Feelings of guilt, disappointment, terror, are the the certain inheritance of the sinner in time, and then, forever, pains of remorse and despair. May those who take pride in presenting sinful joys, remember that they will be of the future and will receive a warning. But he who Trust in the Lord, mercy will surround you. Faith is placed here as the opposite. from evil, for it is the source of virtue. Faith in God is the great enchanter of concerns of life, and the one who possesses it lives in an atmosphere of grace, surrounded by the personal guard of mercies. May it be granted to us in always believe in the mercy of God, even when we cannot see the traces of his work, for the believer, mercy is like everything around as omniscience, and every thought and action of God is scented with this.

The wicked have a swarm of wasps around them, many sorrows; but We have a swarm of bees storing honey for us.

    Verse 11

Be happy. Happiness is not just our privilege, but our Indeed, we serve a generous God, for He is part of our obedience being joyful. How sinful our murmurs are rebels! How natural it seems that a man blessed with forgiveness should be happy! We read about someone who died by the gallows of joy at receiving the forgiveness of your monarch; and we will receive the free forgiveness of the King of kings and yet shall we fall into inexcusable sorrow? "No Sir. Here is the directory by which joy is preserved from frivolity.

We should not rejoice in sin, or find comfort in corn and wine, and the oil, but in our God is to be the garden of the pleasure of our soul: that there is a God is a God like this, and that He is ours, ours forever, our Father and our Lord reconciled is enough material for an endless psalm of overwhelming joy. And rejoice, you righteous ones, double your joy, shake resting. Since God has clothed his choristers in white garments of the holiness, do not let them stifle your joyful voices, but sing in shout out loud and yell like those who find great spoils. And shout out Joy to all who are upright in heart. Our happiness should be demonstrative; the cold penury of love often suppresses the noble flame of joy, and men whisper their praises with decorum, where a a healthy explosion of music would be much more natural. It is to be feared that the church two days from now, through an anxiety for excessive ownership, be it becoming too artificial; in such a way that the cries of the inquisitors and the screams The believers would be silenced if they were heard in our assemblies. This it can be better than violent fanaticism, but there is so much danger in one direction towards the other. On our part, we are touched to the heart by a small sacred excess, and when pious men in their joy they surpass the narrow limits of decorum, we do not, like Michal, the daughter of Saul, we look at you with a disdainful heart. Note how the forgiven are represented as challenges, fair and without deceit; a man can have many failures and still being saved, but a false heart is marked everywhere of condemnation. A man of twisted and cunning manners, of nature tortuous and cunning, it is not saved, and most likely never will be; because the soil that produces the harvest when grace is sown in it can be painful and wasteful, but our Lord tells us that it is a good land and honest. Our observation has been that men of double tongues and ways cheaters are the least likely of all men to be saved: certainly where grace comes, it restores the mind of man to its perpendicular and it frees you from being bent with vice, twisted by trade or inclined with dishonesty. Reader, what a delightful psalm! You, in reading, Did you manage to claim a lot in good land? If so, publish for the others the path of salvation.
