    Verse 1

"The heavens declare the glory of God." The book of nature has three leaves, sky, earth and sea, of which the sky is the first and the most glorious, and by With your help, we are able to see the beauties of the other two. Any book without its first page it would be sadly imperfect, and especially the great Natural Bible, since its first pages, the sun, the moon, and the stars, they provide light for the remaining volume, and those are the keys, without which the what follows would be dark and without discernment. The man walking this was clearly made to scan the skies, and he who begins to read the creation studying the stars starts the book in the right place.

The skies are plural due to their variety, encompassing the aquatic skies. with their countless shapes of clouds, the airy skies with their calm and storms, the solar skies with all the glories of the day, and the starry skies with all the wonders of the night; What the sky of skies must not have entered In the heart of man, but on high all things proclaim the glory of God.

Any part of creation has more instructions than the human mind ever will. it will wear out, but the heavenly kingdom is peculiarly rich in spiritual wisdom.

The heavens declare, or are declaring, that the continuation of their testimony is intended by the employed participles; At every moment, existence, the The power, wisdom, and goodness of God are being heard by the guards. celestial beings that shine over us from above. He who can guess the sublimity divine must look up at the starry vault; he who would imagine the infinity must look towards limitless expansion; he who wishes to see the divine wisdom must consider the balance of the orbs; whoever knows the divine fidelity should mark the regularity of planetary movements; and he who attains certain conceptions of power, greatness, and majesty divine, must estimate the attractive forces, the magnitude of the fixed stars and the the brilliance of the whole celestial train. It is not merely the glory that the heavens they declare, but the 'glory of God', for they deliver whoever knows the divine fidelity should characterize the regularity of planetary movements; and those who attain certain conceptions of power, greatness, and majesty divine, should estimate the forces of attraction, the magnitude of the fixed stars and the the brightness of the whole celestial train. It is not merely the glory that the heavens they declare, but the 'glory of God', for they deliver who knows the divine fidelity should characterize the regularity of planetary movements; and he who achieves some conceptions of power, greatness, and majesty divine, should estimate the forces of attraction, the magnitude of fixed stars and the the brightness of the whole celestial train. It is not merely the glory that the heavens declaram, mas a "glória de Deus", pois eles entregam nós, tais argumentos undeniable for a conscious, intelligent, planning Creator, controller and president, that no person without prior judgment can remain unconvinced by them. The testimony given by the heavens is not my indication, but a clear and unmistakable statement; and it is a statement of the most constant and permanent type. However, for all this, what good is the highest declaration to a deaf person, or the clearest demonstration to a spiritually blind person? God, the Holy Spirit, must enlighten us, or all the suns of the Milky Way will never be. "O firmamento revela seu trabalho prático;" não é útil no uso vulgar desse term, but in manual work.

The expansion is full of the works of the Lord, creating hands; hands being attributed to the great creator Spirit to expose its care and its action worker, and to find the poor understanding of mortals. It is humiliating to discover that, even when the most devoted and elevated minds desire express their highest thoughts of God, must use words and metaphors drawn from the Earth. We are children and each of us must confess: When I was a child, I spoke like a child. In the expanse above us, God. fly, so to speak, your starry banner to show that the king is in house, and hang your shield so that the atheists can see how he despises them complaints against him. He who looks at the firmament and then writes for yourself as an atheist, marks yourself at the same instant as a idiot or a liar. It is strange that some who love God still they are afraid to study the book of nature that declares God; the false spirituality of some believers, who are too heavenly to consider the heavens, gave color to the vain unfaithful that nature contradicts revelation. The the wisest men are those who, with pious longing, outline the exits of Jehovah, both in creation and in grace; only fools are afraid of that the honest study of one of them harms our faith in the other. Dr. M'Cosh said well: "Often we lament the attempts made to put God's works against the Word of God, and thus excite, propagate and perpetuate jealousy adjusted to separate parties that should live in "closest union." In particular, we have always lamented that they must have been made efforts to depreciate nature in order to exalt revelation; it has always seemed to us to be nothing more than the degradation of a part of the work of God, in the hope of exalting and recommending another. Do not let science and the religion being counted as opposing citadels, disapproving of the challenge each other and their troops brandishing their armor in a hostile manner. They they have many common enemies, if they would even think of it, in ignorance and in prejudice, in passion and in addiction, in all its forms, to admit that legally waste their strengths in a futile battle against each other. Science there is a foundation and, therefore, religion; let them unite their foundations, and the base it will be broader, and they will be two compartments of a large fabric created for the glory of God. One may be external and the other internal. In one, let everything look and admire and adore; and in the other, those who have faith kneel, they praise and worship. May it be the sanctuary where human learning can present your richest incense as an offering to God, and the other the most saint of all, separated from him by a veil now torn in two, and in which, in a pity sprinkled with blood. thirst, we pour out the love of a reconciled heart and we heard the oracles of the living God. On a seat of mercy sprayed with blood, we pour out the love of a heart reconciled and we heard the oracles of the living God. in a seat of mercy sprinkled with blood, we pour out the love of a heart reconciled and we heard the oracles of the living God.

    Verse 2

"Day by day it delivers speeches and night by night it reveals knowledge."

As if one day took over the story where the other left it, and every night it went through the wonderful story to the next. The original has in it the thought of pouring or capturing, with speech; as if days and nights were just a source that flows forever with the praise of Jehovah. Oh, to drink frequently in the heavenly well and learn to proclaim the glory of God! The the witnesses above cannot be killed or silenced; from their seats Elevated, they constantly preach the knowledge of God, inattentive and impartial for the judgment of men. Even the changes from night to day alternates are mutually eloquent, and light and shadow reveal likewise the Invisible; let the vicissitudes of our circumstances do the same, and while we bless the God of our days of joy, let's also to exalt the one who gives 'songs at night'.

The lesson of day and night is one that was well if all men they would learn. It should be among our thoughts of the day and thoughts nocturnals, to remember the escape of time, the mutable nature of earthly things, the brevity of joy and sadness, the preciousness of life, our total impotence to remember the hours flown by, and the irresistible approach of eternity. The day offers us work, the night reminds us to prepare ourselves for our last hymn; the day makes us work for God, and the night us invites us to rest in it; The day invites us to seek an endless day, and to night warns us to escape the eternal night.

    Verse 3

'There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.' man can hear the voices of the stars. There are many languages of the earthlings, For the celestial beings, there is only one, and this can be understood by every mind. disposed. The lowest pagans are without excuse, if they do not discover the invisible things of God in the works he has made. Sun, moon, and stars are the traveling preachers of God; they are apostles on their journey confirming those who consider the Lord and judge in a circle condemning those who adore idols.

The margin gives us another rendering, which is more literal and involves less. repetition; "without speech, without words, your voice is not heard"; that is, your teaching it is not directed to the ear and is not pronounced in articulated sounds; it is pictorial It is directed at the eye and the heart; it does not touch the sense by which faith comes, for faith comes by hearing. Jesus Christ is called the Word, for he is a a much more distinct demonstration of God than all the heavens can pay; they are, after all, silent instructors; neither star nor sun can reach In one word, but Jesus is the expressed image of the person of Jehovah, and His name is the Word of God.

    Verse 4

"Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world."

Although celestial bodies move in solemn silence, still in the ear of the... thus they deliver precious teachings. They do not utter words literal, but still your instruction is clear enough to be so described. Horne says that the phrase used indicates a sign language and, Therefore, we are told that the heavens speak through their actions and operations. significant. The words of nature are like those of the deaf and mute, but the Grace clearly speaks to us about the Father. Through its line, it is probably the measure of your domain which, along with your testimony, went to the far end of habitable land.

No man who lives under the legends of the sky dwells beyond the limits of diocese of the preachers of the court of God; it is easy to escape the light of the ministers, they are like stars to the right of the Son of Man; but still the men, with an untied conscience, will find a Nathan to to accuse them, a Jonah to warn them and an Elijah to threaten them in the silent stars of the night. For graceful souls the voices of the heavens are much more influential, they feel the sweet influences of the Pleiades and are attracted to their God Father by the bright bands of Orion. "He established a tabernacle for the sun." In the heavens, the sun camps and marches like a powerful monarch on his glorious path. He does not have fixed dwelling, but like a traveler throws and removes his tent, a tent that will soon be removed and rolled up like a scroll. As the the royal pavilion was located in the center of the army, the sun in its place looks like a king in the midst of the stars that accompany him.

    Verse 5

"Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber." A bridegroom goes out sumptuously dressed, the face radiant with joy that conveys to everyone; such, but with a powerful emphasis, is the rising sun. "And it rejoices like a strong man to run a race." Like a champion girded to run cheerfully heads towards the race, the sun also moves forward with a incomparable regularity and an tireless speed in its pointed orbit.

It's just a game for him; there are no signs of effort, signaling or exhaustion. No other creature produces such joy for the earth as your bride the sun; and neither, be it horse or eagle, can, for an instant, comparing oneself quickly to this celestial champion. But all of his glory is only the glory of God; even the sun shines in borrowed light from the Great Father the lights.

You sun, of this great world so much of eyes as of soul, Recognize Him as greater; sound His praise When you rise and when noon wins, And when you fall.

    Verse 6

"Its going out is from the end of heaven, and its circuit to the ends of it." He load your light to the borders of the solar heavens, crossing the zodiac with constant movement, denying its light to no one who dwells within its reach. "And there is nothing hidden from her warmth." Above, below, to Around, the heat of the sun exerts an influence. The innards of the earth are stored with the ancient products of solar rays, and even the most deep caverns of the Earth feel their power. Where the light is turned off, heat and other more subtle influences find their way.

There is no doubt that a parallel must be drawn between the sky of grace and the sky of nature. The path of God's grace is sublime and wide and full of your glory; in all its displays, it must be admired and studied with diligence; its lights and shadows are instructive; it was proclaimed, in to a certain extent, to all peoples, and in due time it will be even more completely published to the ends of the earth. Jesus, like the sun, dwells in the middle of the revelation, dwelling among men in all its splendor; rejoicing, like the Bridegroom of His church, in revealing Himself to men; and, Like a champion, to gain fame for oneself. He makes a circuit of mercy, blessing the most remote corners of the earth; and there are no souls in search, no matter how degraded and depraved they may be, who will be denied the comfortable warmth and the blessing of your love - even death will feel the power of your presence and will renounce the bodies of the saints, and this fallen land will be restored to its original glory.

In the next three verses (7, 8, 9), we have a brief but instructive, hexapla, containing six descriptive titles of the word, six qualities mentioned characteristics and six declared divine effects. Names, nature and effect are well defined.

    Verse 7

'The law of the Lord is perfect'; why does it not mean only the law of Moses, but the doctrine of God, all the execution and rule of the sacred Written. The doctrine revealed by God he declares to be perfect, and yet, David had only a small part of the Scriptures, and if a fragment, that the darkest and most historical portion, were perfect, what should be the whole volume? How much more perfect is the book that contains the manifestation as clear as possible of divine love and gives us an open view of grace redeemer. The gospel is a complete scheme or law of salvation by grace, presenting to the needy sinner everything that their terrible needs they can demand. There are no redundancies or omissions in the Word of God and in plan of grace; so why do men try to paint this lily and gild this refined gold? The gospel is perfect in all its parts, and perfect As a whole: it is a crime to add, treason to alter it and a crime to take it away from him.

Converting the soul. place from where sin had cast him. The practical effect of the Word of God is to convert man to himself, to his God and to holiness; and the turning point or conversion is not external, "the soul" is moved and renewed. The great means of the conversion of sinners is the Word of God, and the more we if we remain in our ministry, we will more likely succeed. It is the Word of God, and not man's commentary on the Word of God, that it is a powerful work with the souls. When the law and the gospel address, the action it is different, but the end is one, for by the Spirit of God the soul is made to yield and cry: "Return to me, and I will return". Experience nature depraved by men with philosophy and reasoning, and laughs at their efforts to to despise, but the Word of God soon works a transformation.

The testimony of the Lord is sure. sin and in the name of justice; he testifies of our fall and of our restoration; this testimony is clear, resolute, and infallible, and must be accepted as certain. God's testimony in His Word is so certain that we can extract from it a solid comfort both for time and for eternity, and so certain that no attack made against it, no matter how fierce However subtle it may be, it can weaken your strength. What a blessing that, in a world of uncertainties, let us have something on which we can rest! We are we hurry from the quicksands of human speculations to the land seal of Divine Revelation. "Make the simple wise." Humble, sincere, and teachable minds receive the word and are made wise for salvation. Things hidden from the wise and the prudent are revealed to babies. The persuaded grow wise, but the cavillers continue foolish. Like law or plan, the Word of God converts and, So, as a testimony, she instructs; it is not enough for us to be. converted, we must continue to be disciples; and if we feel the power of the Truth, we must prove its certainty by experience. The perfection of the gospel converts, but its certainty is built; if we were built, would not lead us to unsettle the promise through unbelief, for a questioned gospel cannot make us wise, but the truth that we have certainty will be our establishment.

    8. The statutes of the Lord are right. His precepts and decrees are founded in righteousness and are those who are right or conform to the correct reason of man. Just as a doctor gives the right medicine and a counselor gives the advice Sure, the same happens with the Book of God. 'It delights the heart.' Mark the progress; The one who was converted has become wise and is now made happy; The truth that makes the right heart gives joy to the right heart. Grace free brings joy to the heart. Earthly joy resides on the lips and releases the bodily powers; but celestial delights satisfy the inner nature and engage the mental faculties to the brim. There is no cordial comfort like that which is poured from the bottle of Scripture.

Retire yourself and read your Bible to be gay. "The commandment of the Lord is pure." No mixture of error contaminates it. no stain of sin pollutes it; it is unadulterated milk, the wine not diluted. "Illuminating the eyes," purging the grossness through its own purity. earthly that pales the intellectual discernment: whether the eye is pale of sadness or of sin, the Scripture is a skilled optician and makes the eye clear and brilliant. Look at the sun and put your eyes out, look at more than the light of the sun of the Apocalypse and it illuminates them; the purity of the snow causes the snow blindness to the alpine traveler, but the purity of God's truth has the the opposite effect and cures the natural blindness of the soul. It is good to observe again the gradation; the convert becomes a disciple and then a soul rejoicing, now he gains a discerning eye and like a spiritual man he discerns all things, although he himself is not discerned by anyone.

    9. The fear of the Lord is clean. The doctrine of truth is described here by its spiritual effect, internal piety or the fear of the Lord; this is pure in itself even purifies the love from sin, sanctifying the heart in which it reigns. The the fear of God is never satisfied until all the streets, alleys, and lanes, yes, and all the houses and all the corners of the city of Mansul are free from the Diablolonian people hiding in it. 'Remaining forever.' A filth brings decay, but cleanliness is the great enemy of corruption. the grace of God in the heart, being a pure principle, is also a principle permanent and incorruptible, which can be crushed by time, but not can be completely destroyed. Both in the Word and in the heart, when the Lord writes, he says with Pilate: "What I have written, I have written;" he will not do razors, much less will others suffer. The revealed will of God is never a change; even Jesus did not come to destroy, but to fulfill, and even even the ceremonial law was only altered concerning its shadow, the substance desired by her is eternal. When the governments of the nations are shaken by the revolution and the ancient constitutions are being revoked, it is reassuring to know that the throne of God is unshakeable and His law unaltered. unaltered and its law unaltered.

The judgments of the Lord are true and altogether just solidarily the words of the Lord are true; what is good in details is excellent in the dough; no exception can be made to a single one clause separately, or to the book as a whole. The judgments of God, all together, or each of them separately, are manifestly just and do not need of laborious apologies to justify them. Jehovah's judicial decisions, as revealed in the law, or illustrated in the history of His providence, are the own truth and recommend themselves to every sincere mind; their power is not just invincible, but his justice is impeccable.

More desirable are they than fine gold, yes, than much gold "The biblical truth is enriching for the soul to the highest degree; the metaphor is one that gathers strength as it is revealed - gold - fine gold a lot of fine gold; it is good, better, best and therefore it is not only desirable with the greed of a miser, but more than that. Like treasure spiritual is nobler than mere material wealth, it must also be desired and sought after with greater anxiety. Men speak of solid gold, but what is as solid as solid truth? For the love of gold, pleasure is renegade, easily renounced and life in danger; we will not be ready to do so much for the love of truth? "Sweeter than honey and the honey favor. pleasure; here is gold for one, yes, the best gold in large quantity; here the honey is for the other, yes, long live the honey falling from the comb. "The pleasures that They arise from a correct understanding of the divine testimonies of the order. but more pleasant; earthly pleasures are totally insignificant when compared to them. The sweetest joys, yes, the sweetest of the sweetest falls to your portion that has the truth of God to be your inheritance.

    Verse 11

"Moreover, by them your servant is warned." We are warned. by the Word both of our duty and of our danger and of our remedy.

In the sea of life, there would be many more shipwrecks if it weren't for the signs. divine beings of the storm, who give the watchman a timely warning. The Bible must be our Mentor, our Monitor, our Memento Mori, our Remembrancer and the Guardian of our Consciousness. Unfortunately, so few men will accept the warning so graciously given; no one but servants of God, will do this, for only they will consider the will of their Master.

The servants of God not only find their service delightful in itself, but they receive a great reward; "By keeping them, there is a great reward."

There is a salary and a great one; even though we don't earn any debt salary, we earn big salaries for free. Saints can be losers for a time, but they will be glorious winners in the long run, and even now a quiet conscience is not in itself a small reward for obedience. The one who uses the herb called ease of heart in their breast is truly blessed. However, the main reward it is still to come, and the word used here suggests so much, for it means the heel, as if the reward would reach us at the end of life when the the work was done; by hand, but when he left, we could see his jump.

Oh, the glory yet to be revealed! It is enough to make a man fainting with joy at his perspective. Our light anxiety, which is just for a moment, it is not worthy of being compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. Then we will know the value of the Scriptures when we swim in that sea of unspeakable pleasure to which its currents will take us, if we we will commit to them.

    Verse 12

"Who can understand their errors?" A question that is yours. own answer. Instead, it requires an exclamation mark of what interrogation. By law it is the knowledge of sin, and in the presence of the truth Divine, the psalmist marvels at the number and the hatred of his sins. He is the one who knows himself best who knows better the Word, but still will be in a maze of wonders regarding the who does not know, and not in the heap of congratulations for what he knows. We heard about of a comedy of errors, but for a good man this is just another one tragedy. Many books have some lines of errata at the end, but our errata can be as large as the volume, if we could, but we had common sense to see them. Augustine wrote in his old days a series of retractions; ours can create a library if we were gracious enough for us to be convinced of our mistakes and confess them. "CleanYou can mark totally hidden faults on me. of myself. It was useless to expect to see all my stains; therefore, oh Lord, remove even those sins from my expiating blood that my conscience has been unable to detect. the sins, like conspirators particulars must be hunted, or they can cause fatal damage, it's good to be much in prayer about them. At the Lateran Council of the Church of Rome, a decree was passed that every true believer must confess his sins, all of them, once a year to the priest, and they clung to him this statement, that there is no hope for forgiveness, but in fulfilling this decree. What can be equal to the absurdity of such a decree like what? that they Can you count your sins as easily as you can count your fingers?

If we could receive forgiveness for all our sins, counting all the sins we commit in an hour, there is not one of us who can enter in the sky, for besides the sins that are known to us and that we can be able to confess, there is a vast mass of sins, which are such sins how much those we mourn, but who are secret, and are not under our eyes. If we had eyes like God, we should think in a way very different from ourselves. The transgressions we see and confess they are like the small samples from the farmer that he brings to the market, when he leaves his barn full at home. Verse 13: 'Keep your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have' dominion over me." This sincere and humble prayer teaches us that the saints they can fall into the worst of sins, unless they are restrained by grace, and that, therefore, they must watch and pray so that they do not enter into temptation.

There is a natural propensity to sin in the best of men, and they they must be held when a horse is held by the wound or they come across with him. Presumptuous sins are peculiarly dangerous. All of the sins are great sins, but some sins are greater than others.

Every sin has in it the same poison of rebellion and is full of marrow. essential to the traitorous rejection of God; but there are some sins that have within them a greater development of the essential harm of the rebellion, and that wear away in their faces more of the blatant pride that defies the Most High. It is wrong suppose that, because all sins condemn us, one sin is not greater than the other. The fact is that while every transgression is one thing seriously serious and sinful, still there are some transgressions that they have a deeper shadow of darkness, and a hue of criminality but doubly scarlet than the others. The presumptuous sins of our texts are the main and the worst of all sins; they are in the head and above all on the list of iniquities. It is notable that, although an atonement it was provided under Jewish law for every kind of sin, there was a single exception: "But the soul that sins presumptuously shall not have atonement; it will be extirpated from among the people." And now, under the Christian dispensation, although in the sacrifice of our blessed Lord may there be a great and precious atonement for the presumptuous sins, for which the sinners who erred in this way they are purified, but undoubtedly, presumptuous sinners, dying without forgiveness, you should expect to receive a double portion of God's wrath, and a part but more terrible is the eternal punishment in the pit dug for the wicked. For this reason, Davi is so anxious that he will never be able to be under the reigning power of these. gigantic males. "Then I will be just, and I will be innocent of the great transgression." He shudders at the thought of unforgivable sin. The sin secret is a step towards presumptuous sin, and that is the vestibule of "sin that leads to death". One who is not stubborn in their sin, it will be in a fair way to be innocent to the extent that the poor a sinful man may be; but he who tempts the devil to tempt him is in a path that will take you from bad to worse, and from worse to worst. And I will be innocent of great transgression." He trembles at the thought of the unforgivable sin. The secret sin is a springboard for presumptuous sin, and this is the vestibule of "sin that leads to death." Unintentional in your sin, it will be in a fair way to be innocent, as much as a poor man sinner may be, but one who tempts the devil to tempt him is in a a path that will take you from bad to worse, and from worse to worse. And I will be innocent. of great transgression." He trembles at the thought of the unforgivable sin. The secret sin is a springboard for presumption sin, and this is the vestibule of "sin that leads to death". Unintentional in your sin, it will be in a fair way to be innocent, as much as a poor man sinner may be, but he who tempts the devil to tempt him is in a a path that will take you from bad to worse, and from worse to the worst. But the one that the devil tempts him on a path that will lead him from bad to worse, and from worse to worse. But he who tempts the devil to tempt him is on a path that it will take you from bad to worse, and from worse to worse.

    Verse 14

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your eyes, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." A a sweet and so spiritual prayer that is almost as commonly used in worship Christian regarding the apostolic blessing. Words from the mouth are mockery if the heart do not meditate; the shell is nothing without the kernel; but both together are useless to less than accepted; and even if accepted by man, it is all vanity if it is not acceptable in the eyes of God. We must, in prayer, regard Jehovah as our empowering force, and our Savior Redeemer, or should we not pray correctly, and it is good to feel our personal interest in order to use the word my, or our prayers will be harmed. Our relative's name próximo, nosso Goel ou Redentor, faz um final abençoado para o Salmo; it started with the heavens, but ends with Him whose glory fills the heaven and the earth. Blessed Kinsman, grant us now to meditate acceptably. about your sweetest love and tenderness.
