Song of Solomon 5:9
Song of Solomon 5:9
What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? What is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
The church having solemnly adjured the daughters of Jerusalem, that when they found her beloved, they would tell him that she was sick of love In these words we have their reply to her, which show what an opinion they had of her, and what effect her words had upon them: in which may be observed,
I. The title and character they give her; "O thou fairest among women."
II. A question they propose to her; "What is thy beloved more than another beloved?"
III. This question repeated; where the reason of it must be considered.
