Song of Solomon 1:9
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Christ having returned a suitable answer, and given proper directions to the church in her present difficulties, enters upon a commendation of her, which is begun in this verse, and continued in the following one. In these words are,
I. An affectionate title given to her; "O my love."
II. A comparison which Christ makes of her, "to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots." And,
III. It may be enquired why such a comparison is made and mentioned in this place.
