Discernment Today
Choose doctrine according to godliness. Refuse the diet of empty speculation, cultural accommodation, and demonic deception. You have been commended to God and to the word of His grace. That word is able to build you up. That word is able to give you the inheritance. That word is able to keep you sanctified.
The devil has doctrine, but it cannot save, cannot sanctify, and cannot sustain. It can only distract, deceive, and destroy. But the words of His grace lead to life. They lead to Christ. They lead you home.
Therefore, hold it. In days of confusion, hold it. In seasons of persecution, hold it. When it is popular and when it is despised, hold it. Teach it. Not with arrogance, but with authority. Not with harshness, but with clarity.
Pass it to faithful men and women who will teach others also. Live it. Let your conduct adorn your confession. Let your love validate your learning.
Let your patience prove your preaching.
