What this chapter says
Peter’s call to be “clothed with humility” becomes, for Tozer, a picture of humility as the Christian’s everyday uniform, as recognizable as any servant’s dress. He points to Christ’s own self-emptying descent to the cross as the pattern all believers are meant to imitate, and uses an illustration from the Song of Songs to show how reluctance to embrace lowly service can cost us close fellowship with Christ. God’s favor, Tozer concludes, rests not on the proud but on those found, again and again, in the place of humility.
