What this chapter says
Answering both gloomy pessimists and starry-eyed escapists in the church, Tozer maps out a balanced hope that rejoices in present grace while still longing for a coming, far greater completeness. He warns against two errors: living only for “the sweet bye and bye” while neglecting God’s present provision, and living only for the “sweet now and now” with no thought of eternity. True biblical hope, grounded in what Peter and Paul both promised of future glory, gives believers reason for confident, settled joy rather than either despair or complacency.
