What this chapter says

Taking Peter’s opening praise that God “has given us new birth into a living hope,” Tozer rebukes the apologetic, timid posture many Christians adopt toward the world, contrasting it with the boldness of people who actually believe what they claim. New birth, he insists, is a major supernatural miracle — comparable to the resurrection and to creation itself — not a transaction to be managed or diluted into “two works of grace.” Believers who grasp what has truly been done in them, he argues, have no need to shrink back or apologize; they already carry, in Christ, everything that matters.

Reflect

Do you find yourself apologizing for your faith rather than resting confidently in what God has already done in you?
