"OH, MY CHILDREN! My husband! How can they live without me?" (continued)
21. Our Times Are in God's Hands
IT IS A feast for me to be in Holland, for I meet friends of former days. I gather them in my home to tell them how much I have experienced during the last year. At one of these gatherings, I missed one of my friends. Somebody told me, "She is ill, so she could not come."
I went to see her. She told me what had happened. "I have been very ill, and everyone—myself, too—thought I had to die. Oh, Corrie, I was not afraid. I was just thinking about the joy of seeing the Lord Jesus as IJ read in the Bible all the promises that speak of heaven. But then I began to recover. I am not strong, but the doctor said that in a short while I shall be able to do my work again."
"Are you happy?"
"Yes. I can be an eternity in heaven-and there is much work for me to do here in this world. I believe I will return to my everyday life richer than I was before I was ill. I see now that our times are in God's hands. I believe I will take the good opportunities, which the Lord will give me in the future, with more thankfulness, because I had thought I had lost them forever. I knew, when I was dying, how serious my condition was, but the Lord gave me grace. I was not afraid. Now I know, as I go back to my everyday life, that I will see the smaller problems in the light of eternity. I am sure I will not be so concerned about the problems of everyday life. I thank God that I had this illness. It made me more ready for life."
All things work together for good to them that love God... .

JESUS IS VICTOR 371
The Lord never makes a mistake. One day, when we are in heaven, I'm sure we shall see the answers to the whys. My, how often I have asked, "Why?" In heaven we shall see God's side of the embroidery. God has no problems—only plans. There is never panic in heaven.
