Corrie ten Boom, Her Story (continued)

17. His Sheep

SOME TIME AGO, | visited a friend of mine. He was a man who had often helped me. When I could not understand something in the Bible, he told me what it meant. He knew a great deal. He knew the Lord. However, there was one strange thing—he was afraid to die.

Now I had heard that he was very ill, so I went to him, thinking that I must try to help him so that he would no longer be afraid to die. It was possible that that moment would soon come. It would be such a pity if he should be afraid, since he had known the Lord for such a long time. I prayed in my heart, "Oh, Lord Jesus, will You touch him, will You take away all fear from his heart?"

When I entered his room, he looked very happy. I asked him, "Are you a little better?"

"No," he said, "I'm very weak and I know that I must die. But what I'm so very happy about is that Jesus said, 'I give My sheep life eternal!' It is good He said it, for I cannot do anything myself. I am so tired that I cannot think properly, but I know that He will take care of me—even... even now. I cannot do it, but He is able."

How good it was to see that all the fear had disappeared. The Lord Himself takes care of His own. When there are moments that are difficult, we do not have to fear anything, for He is able to help us. He is faithful. He loves us.

Yes, He gives, and all that we have to do—is accept! Not one of our prayers is lost. All our prayers are kept in heaven.

JESUS IS VICTOR 365

Another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
