Returning to the cross as the center of the whole book, Hession describes the blood of the Lamb as the continual ground of cleansing, victory, and fellowship with God — not a truth believed once at conversion and set aside, but one freshly applied to each new failure as it is confessed. He connects this directly back to brokenness: it is the broken, confessing heart that actually experiences the cleansing the blood provides, rather than one that minimizes or excuses sin.
