About this book

The Calvary Road by Roy Hession

The Calvary Road is a short, direct call to personal revival, first published in 1950 by CLC Publications (Christian Literature Crusade). Roy Hession wrote it together with his first wife, Revel Hession, out of their own experience of the East African Revival Movement, which reshaped his understanding of the Christian life after a 1947 conference with East African church leaders. The book has since been translated into more than 80 languages and remains one of the most widely read short works on revival in English. Its ten chapters and epilogue trace a single thread — brokenness before God, honest confession, and continual reliance on the finished work of Christ — through subjects ranging from personal holiness and Christian service to marriage, family life, and the handling of other people's faults.
