Week 36—FRIDAY
“THE OVERFLOWING HEART”—THE CLIMAX
After the Open Heart, we go through the week—the Ashram usually lasts for a week in the West, a month at Sat Tal in India—with a regular daily program: 6:00, rising bell; 6:40, corporate devotions; 7:30, breakfast; 8:30, the Bible Hour; 9:30, the Church at Work Hour; 10:30, The Work Hour; 11:30, Brother Stanley’s Hour; 12:30, lunch; 1:15, Family Hour; 1:40, recreation; 3:30, Special Interest Seminar, 4:30, Hour of Witness; 6:00, supper; 7:00, prayer groups; 8:00, Brother Stanley’s Evangelistic Hour; 10:00, silence.
We have silence from 10:00 P.M. till the middle of the Devotional Hour at 7:00 A.M. In the Sat Tal-Ashram, we have Thursday as our day of silence. The Family Hour is the hour in which we bring up anything for constructive criticism or change. If it is worthy of change, we change. But if they don’t bring it up at the Family Hour, they must not bring it up any other place. There must be no secret criticism. The fellowship must be relaxed, knowing that if there is no open criticism there is no inner.
We have a Prayer Vigil running through five days throughout the twenty-four hours in shifts of an hour. There is a chart with spaces of an hour in which the individual signs up. Also, a Prayer Request Book in which individuals can write their requests for prayer. So the participants take that Request Book and spend their hour in praying for these requests. Others can join this hour, but one is responsible. The spiritual temperature goes up when the Prayer Vigil begins. The general public is invited to the evening evangelistic service. We have a communion service and a silent meal the last morning.
The Morning of the Overflowing Heart, following the Communion, is the climax. Here the cream rises to the surface. We see what the Holy Spirit has done. We take from two to five hours to tell what has happened to us. The results are amazing. From ninety-five to ninety-eight percent will be cleaned up and cleared out and transformed.
O God our Father, we thank you that there is a possibility of change. We are made for change. And we can be changed radically and permanently when we submit to and respond to your redemption. This is our open door. Amen.
AFFIRMATION FOR THE DAY: “Behold I stand at the door and knock”—my opening of the door is my Open Door—to his Everything.
