AUTHENTIC CASES OF HEALING
Psalm 116:6-14
We are studying how God heals us through the indwelling Spirit when we surrender to God. Here is a testimony: “When I came to this Ashram, I was a coughing, fever-ridden, tubercular person, hemorrhaging and with a cavity in the left lung. Now I’ve been pronounced ‘well-arrested,’ do all my own housework, run two houses, raise two sons, belong to a prayer group, and teach a Sunday school class. My husband was a heavy drinker, bordering on alcoholism. Our home was on the verge of collapse. Today peace and love prevail, and we have been blessed financially beyond our fondest dreams.”
Here is another: “I am the lady who attended my first Ashram last summer and forgot my cane. I have never needed or used that cane to this day. When I went to Green Lake, I had several nervous disorders; in a short time I was free from all of them. I also deserted my selfish way of living. I have never had such happiness, joy, and peace as I have experienced since July 9. My days have been so full and interesting.”
And still another: A woman came to the Ashram with headaches and throbbing “like bubbles in my brain.” They made her sleepless. The doctor gave her pills to be used whenever these spells came on. She kept them in her handbag. At the Ashram she put them away. She said, “Yesterday the headaches got so bad I said to myself I would have to take one. As I was about to open the bag, a Voice said, ‘I wouldn’t take that if I were you.’ I put it back, and my head stopped throbbing, and I’ve been well ever since!”
Here is a similar case: “I told you of having suffered for years with psychomotor seizures; each felt as if a bomb had exploded in my brain. I felt as if I had taken the bombing for America. I read your books and began to know Christ really. I am living a transformed life. My seizures are gone. I’m well.”
Most of these have been cases of functional disorders. Does God heal cases of structural disease? Yes!
O God, your healing extends to us, to the total us. For you are out to rid us of every evil of body, mind, and spirit. You are out to make us whole, every whit. Amen.
AFFIRMATION FOR THE DAY: There is no functional disorder of which I cannot be free now if I will cooperate with God.
