Principles of Holiness
Charles G. Finney · UECF.NET Study Companion

About this book
Principles of Holiness is a themed collection of nineteen lectures and sermons by Charles G. Finney (1792–1875) on Christian sanctification — what it means to be made holy, and whether a fully surrendered, habitually obedient life is possible in this world. Thirteen chapters come from Finney's 1843 Oberlin Evangelist series ‘Holiness of Christians in the Present Life’; the rest come from three additional 1843 sermons and from his 1837 Lectures to Professing Christians. This edition was compiled and introduced by Louis G. Parkhurst, Jr., and first published in 1984 by Bethany House Publishers.

How to use this study companion
This is a guide to Finney's lectures, not a copy of them. The 1984 compilation of Principles of Holiness remains in copyright, so its text is not reproduced here. For the introduction, all nineteen chapters, and the closing appendix you will find the chapter title, a public-domain King James Scripture passage tied to that chapter's theme, an original UECF.NET summary, theological themes, key ideas, important concepts, related Bible references, practical application, and questions for personal reflection and small-group discussion.
Read the chapters in whatever way you have access to Finney's own words, then use the page here to review, discuss, and apply the material. Every page has previous/next links, the full table of contents, adjustable text size, dark mode, bookmarks, and search across the whole companion (press Ctrl K). Your reading position and bookmarks are saved in this browser only.
