THE STORY OF THE BIBLE (NEW TESTAMENT)

In what ways are the four Gospels different from one another, and in what ways are they similar?

In what different ways did people respond to Jesus, from his birth to his ascension?

How does the New Testament show that God’s covenant with Israel has been extended to the world?

The previous chapter sketched the story of the Old Testament, covering several thousands of years. In this chapter an outline of the New Testament story will be given, covering less than a century. It is a fascinating tale of the words and deeds of Jesus of Nazareth, first of what he “began to do and teach” during his life on earth and then of what he continued to do and teach through his chosen apostles after he had returned to his Father and constituted his church.
