5 UNAFFECTED JOY

Fifthly, the joy of the Lord is peculiar joy which can be enjoyed even when one loses all that hehas “‘Although the fig tree shal? not blossom, neither shall fruit be In the vines; the labour of the olives shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herb in the stalls; Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation: (Hab. 3:17-18). Even though you lose your watch or fountain pen or job or position or property this joy will not leave you, Inthe year 1935, I myself saw how 58000 people died in 18 seconds in the Quetta earthquake. The few believers who lived there miraculously escaped death although they lost everything they had. At that time t did rescue work there for two weeks The people who survived were crying ail the day long.. But the delievers even though they had lost every thing, were singing songs and enjoying Bible study meetings. They were least warr tied about what they had lost, Their joy was real, not depending upon wealth, property, position or job. People who do not have this joy, become very miserable of every small toss because their joy depends upon something worldly..
