Invisible Power

The children of Israel were now over against Jericho. At that time the Captain of the host of the Lord appeared to Joshua. Through this appearance; (Josh. 5:13-15), God was assuring him that He Himself would fight on behalf of His people. After that Joshua had to fight many battles but the Captain never again appeared to him nor is Hea mentioned anymore. Thereafter the Lord was fighting on their behalf inan unseen and invisible way (Josh. 21:43-45). The same Lord has promised te be with us also. Even though Heis not visible to our naked sues but He will be with us and fight our battles, provided we give Him complete charge of our lives, plans and situations.

The Captain asked Joshua to loose the shoes from off his feet. This meant that Joshua had to be free from every defilement. When we walk about in different places we cannot help but get dirty somewhere or. somehow. As tong as we are in this wicked would, we are always in the danger of getting defiled through the =. things we see and the things we hear. Some thought, I. word or deed may usher in defilement. We must claim I the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for cleansing I and- then the Captain of the host of the Lord will be with us all the time. Thus keeping Ourselves undefiled i through simple faith in the blood, we will be able to I enjoy invisi ble but very real presenca of the Lord and I appropriate our possessions in Him,
