KING JAMES BIBLE
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It has been estimated that about 93 percent of the words used in the King James Bible (including repetitions of the same word) are native English, rather than Latinisms or other linguistic imports. While some of the terms used in the King James Bible translation of this passage from Ephesians clearly owe their origins to Latin or Greek, none of them stand out as crude neologisms or awkward terms sitting ill at ease with their neighbors. Quite simply, they have all been absorbed into the complex and shifting linguistic amalgam known as the English language.
