With and Without Christ
Sadhu Sundar Singh · Introduction by the Lord Bishop of Winchester

About this book
With and Without Christ
Sadhu Sundar Singh (1889 – disappeared 1929)
An Indian evangelist who travelled on foot through India, Tibet and beyond in the saffron robe of a sadhu set down here what he had seen with his own eyes. He met ascetics on beds of spikes, a hermit walled into a Tibetan cave, a Chinese doctor, a Jewish rabbi in Jerusalem, a nobleman afraid to confess his faith, a converted drunkard who had lost everything, an Armenian pastor who had survived a massacre. Four chapters set these lives side by side — those outside the Christian faith living without Christ and with Him, and those inside it living without Him and with Him — a fifth turns to Sundar Singh’s own story, and a sixth to the inner life.
