इस संस्करण में क्या है, पाठ कहाँ से आया, यह कैसे तैयार किया गया, और इसकी शुद्धता कैसे जाँची गई — इसका एक खुला रिकॉर्ड, ताकि इसका उपयोग करने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति स्वयं इसका मूल्यांकन कर सके।
अभी इसमें क्या है (हिन्दी अनुवाद की स्थिति)
यह अनुवाद अभी आंशिक है। मैथ्यू हेनरी की मूल अंग्रेज़ी संक्षिप्त टीका में बाइबिल की सभी 66 पुस्तकें, 1,189 अध्याय, 3,571 टीका खंड और 667,641 शब्द हैं। इस हिन्दी संस्करण में अभी तक पहली 66 पुस्तकों — उत्पत्ति से प्रकाशितवाक्य तक (1189 अध्याय, 3571 खंड) — का अनुवाद पूरा हुआ है। बाकी पुस्तकों की कड़ियाँ, जब तक उनका अनुवाद तैयार नहीं हो जाता, आपको अंग्रेज़ी संस्करण की ओर ले जाती हैं, ताकि कोई भी कड़ी टूटी हुई न मिले। अनुवाद पूरा हो चुका है के साथ क्रम से आगे बढ़ेगा।
जनस्वामित्व (कॉपीराइट) स्थिति
मैथ्यू हेनरी की मृत्यु 22 जून 1714 को हुई। उनकी व्याख्या, जो 1708 और 1710 के बीच प्रकाशित हुई, और उसका यह क्लासिक संक्षिप्त रूप, लम्बे समय से विश्वभर में जनस्वामित्व (public domain) में हैं। इन्हें मुक्त रूप से पढ़ा, कॉपी किया, उद्धृत किया, मुद्रित और पुनर्वितरित किया जा सकता है।
क्या जानबूझकर छोड़ा गया। इस संस्करण के लिए उपयोग की गई डिजिटल स्रोत फ़ाइल कई पृष्ठों के आधुनिक सम्पादकीय (editorial) सामग्री से आरम्भ होती है: बीसवीं सदी की एक भूमिका (foreword), उस संस्करण के सम्पादक द्वारा हेनरी की एक संक्षिप्त जीवनी, और उस सम्पादक के संक्षेपण-सिद्धांतों (abridging principles) का एक क्रमांकित विवरण। इस प्रकार की सम्पादकीय सामग्री एक आधुनिक रचना है और, टीका की स्थिति चाहे जो भी हो, अभी भी कॉपीराइट में हो सकती है।
इसमें से कुछ भी यहाँ पुनरुत्पादित नहीं किया गया है। वे पृष्ठ प्रकाशित डेटा से पूर्णतः बाहर रखे गए। इस साइट पर परिचय UECF.NET द्वारा उस भूमिका के आधार पर नहीं, वरन मानक प्रकाशित जीवनी-स्रोतों के आधार पर, नए सिरे से लिखा गया।

हेनरी के पाठ का हिन्दी अनुवाद भी UECF.NET द्वारा तैयार किया गया है — यह उनके अपने मूल शब्द नहीं, बल्कि उनके अर्थ का यथासम्भव निष्ठावान हिन्दी रूपान्तर है। कहीं भी हेनरी की बात को पैराफ़्रेज़, विस्तारित या अपनी टीका से पूरक नहीं किया गया। स्रोत जहाँ मौन है, यह संस्करण भी मौन है।
अंग्रेज़ी पाठ कैसे तैयार किया गया (मूल स्रोत)
स्रोत एक PDF रूप में संक्षिप्त टीका का डिजिटल संस्करण था, 1,736 पृष्ठ। इसके पृष्ठों में एक वास्तविक embedded टेक्स्ट-लेयर है — यह फ़ाइल एक वर्ड-प्रोसेसर से टाइपसेट की गई थी, स्कैन नहीं की गई — जिसकी पुष्टि पृष्ठ-दर-पृष्ठ की गई थी, इससे पहले कि उससे कोई पाठ लिया जाता। क्योंकि फ़ाइल में कहीं भी कोई स्कैन किया गया पृष्ठ नहीं था, इसलिए किसी ऑप्टिकल कैरेक्टर रिकग्निशन (OCR) की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ी, और किसी का उपयोग नहीं किया गया।
महत्वपूर्ण खोज: मूल PDF में शब्द-प्रतिस्थापन (word-substitution) की एक व्यवस्थित त्रुटि। इस हिन्दी अनुवाद पर काम करते हुए यह पाया गया कि इस्तेमाल की गई अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत PDF में — उत्पत्ति या निर्गमन तक सीमित नहीं, बल्कि पूरे 1,736-पृष्ठ दस्तावेज़ में — किसी स्वचालित समानार्थी-प्रतिस्थापन (synonym-spinning) प्रक्रिया के प्रभाव प्रतीत होते हैं, जो सम्भवतः इस PDF के इस परियोजना तक पहुँचने से पहले ही उस पर हुई थी। खोज से दो ऐसे प्रतिस्थापित शब्द मिले जो वाक्य में अक्सर अर्थहीन लगते हैं: "unequaled" (पूरे दस्तावेज़ में 125 बार, 95 पृष्ठों पर) और "villainy" (49 बार, 48 पृष्ठों पर)। सन्दर्भ से यह स्पष्ट है कि ज़्यादातर मामलों में असली शब्द "fallen" (पतित) या "common" (सामान्य) रहा होगा। सम्भव है कि इसी तरह के और शब्द-प्रतिस्थापन पूरे दस्तावेज़ में मौजूद हों, जो व्याकरण को न बिगाड़ने के कारण पहचाने न जा सकें। यह खोज परियोजना के मालिक को सूचित की गई है; अंग्रेज़ी साइट की पूरी जाँच एक अलग, बड़ा कार्य है और इस समय इसकी सीमा से बाहर है।
उत्पत्ति के हिन्दी अनुवाद के लिए, नीचे सूचीबद्ध 13 स्थानों पर, मूल PDF पृष्ठों की सीधी जाँच के आधार पर सबसे उपयुक्त प्रतिस्थापन शब्द का अनुमान लगाकर अनुवाद किया गया है (कहीं कहीं निश्चितता ऊँची है, कहीं मध्यम या निम्न — नीचे हर स्थान पर अंकित है)। निर्गमन के लिए भी यही किया गया: वहाँ 15 स्थानों पर (16 सम्पादन) ऐसे सुधार लगाए गए, और इस बार सुधार अनुवाद से पहले अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत-पाठ में ही किए गए, ताकि अनुवादक को शुद्ध पाठ मिले; इनकी पूरी सूची भी नीचे दी गई है। यह ठीक उसी भावना में है जैसे नीचे स्रोत की दो पहले से ज्ञात टंकण-त्रुटियों को खुलेआम दर्ज किया गया है।
पाठ को सीधे निकाला गया, फिर स्रोत के अपने सिद्धांतों को पहचानकर संरचना में विभाजित किया गया: पुस्तक शीर्षक
पृष्ठ, CHAPTER n शीर्षक, पद-विस्तार में समाप्त होने वाली विषय-सूची प्रविष्टियाँ, और
Book Chapter:Verse रूप के खंड-शीर्षक। पृष्ठ-लेआउट से टूटी हुई पंक्तियों को पूरे पैराग्राफ़ में
वापस जोड़ा गया; पंक्तियों के बीच टूटे हाइफ़न फिर से जोड़े गए; और परिणामी संरचना को प्रति अध्याय एक डेटा फ़ाइल
के रूप में लिखा गया।
यह कैसे जाँचा गया (अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत)
- पूर्णता। पार्सर द्वारा बनाई गई अध्याय-सूची की तुलना बाइबिल की हर पुस्तक की ज्ञात अध्याय-संख्या से की गई। सभी 1,189 अध्याय मौजूद हैं, कोई दोहराया नहीं गया, और किसी पुस्तक का कोई अध्याय गायब नहीं है।
- कोई खाली अध्याय नहीं। हर अध्याय में कम से कम एक टीका खंड है।
- खंडों के बीच कुछ भी छूटा नहीं। पाठ को स्रोत से एक ही पास में पुनर्गठित किया गया, जिससे कोई भी पाठ जो किसी खंड का हिस्सा न बना हो, एक शेष (remainder) के रूप में दिखता।
- शीर्षक अखण्डता। स्रोत में खंड-शीर्षक जैसी दिखने वाली हर पंक्ति की जाँच की गई, बिगड़ी हुई पंक्तियों सहित।
- स्पॉट जाँच। पूरी टीका में से प्रतिनिधि अंशों की तुलना स्रोत पृष्ठों से पृष्ठ-दर-पृष्ठ की गई।
ऊपर बताई गई शब्द-प्रतिस्थापन त्रुटि इन जाँचों से नहीं पकड़ी गई थी, क्योंकि वह किसी संरचना, संख्या या खंड-सीमा को नहीं बिगाड़ती — केवल वाक्य के भीतर एक शब्द को। यह इस हिन्दी अनुवाद पर काम के दौरान पकड़ी गई।
उत्पत्ति के हिन्दी अनुवाद में लगाए गए सुधार
नीचे 13 वे स्थान हैं जहाँ ऊपर बताई गई शब्द-प्रतिस्थापन त्रुटि के कारण अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत में अर्थहीन पाठ मिला, और उसके स्थान पर सबसे उपयुक्त पुनर्निर्माण से अनुवाद किया गया:

निर्गमन में उसी शब्द-प्रतिस्थापन त्रुटि के 15 स्थान मिले (कुल 16 सम्पादन)। ये सुधार अनुवाद से पहले अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत-पाठ में लगाए गए, और हर स्थान पर अपनाया गया पुनर्निर्माण और उसकी निश्चितता नीचे दर्ज है:

गिनती में भी वही त्रुटि मिली (कुल 17 सम्पादन)। "unequaled" यहाँ "unclean" (अशुद्ध), "inclined / inclinations" (झुकाव) और "enclosed" (घिरा हुआ) के स्थान पर बैठा है; "villainy" एक बार "fallen" के स्थान पर, और "savors" एक बार "Savior's" के स्थान पर। इस पुस्तक में एक नया संकेत-शब्द भी मिला — "excellencies", जो "excels" / "excellent" के स्थान पर बैठा है (अध्याय 12 और 24)। नीचे के पहले तेरह सम्पादन अनुवाद से पहले अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत-पाठ में लगाए गए; "excellencies" वाले चार स्थान अनुवाद के बाद पकड़ में आए — उनका अनुवाद पहले ही अर्थ के अनुसार हुआ था और बाद में अंग्रेज़ी पाठ को उसी के अनुरूप किया गया:

यह हिन्दी अनुवाद कैसे बनाया गया
- अनुवाद पद्धति। उत्पत्ति के सभी 50 अध्यायों के टीका-पाठ को समानान्तर रूप से Claude के द्वारा अनुवादित किया गया, बाइबिल-पुस्तक-नामों और धार्मिक शब्दावली के लिए एक साझा शब्दावली का उपयोग करते हुए, ताकि पूरे अनुवाद में एकरूपता रहे। निर्गमन के 40 अध्याय भी इसी पद्धति से, 4 समानान्तर बैचों में, अनुवादित किए गए; इस बार ऊपर दर्ज अंग्रेज़ी स्रोत-सुधार अनुवाद से पहले लगाए गए, और अनुवाद के बाद एक एकरूपता-जाँच (consistency pass) चलाई गई — अंकों, पुस्तक-नामों वाले संदर्भों और शब्दावली के लिए। लैव्यव्यवस्था के 27 अध्याय भी ठीक इसी तरह (2 बैचों में, पहले से सुधारे गए अंग्रेज़ी पाठ से, उसी एकरूपता-जाँच के साथ) अनुवादित किए गए। गिनती के 36 अध्याय भी इसी तरह (3 बैचों में, पहले से सुधारे गए अंग्रेज़ी पाठ से, उसी एकरूपता-जाँच के साथ) अनुवादित किए गए।
- चौथी पुस्तक (गिनती) के बाद। व्यवस्थाविवरण से प्रकाशितवाक्य तक की पुस्तकें इसी पद्धति से — प्रति पुस्तक कई समानान्तर बैचों में, पहले से सुधारे गए अंग्रेज़ी पाठ से, और उसी एकरूपता-जाँच के साथ — अनुवादित की गईं। प्रत्येक पुस्तक के स्रोत-सुधार नीचे की सूची में दर्ज हैं।
- संरचनात्मक जाँच। हर अध्याय के लिए, हिन्दी और अंग्रेज़ी फ़ाइलों के बीच खंड-संख्या, पैराग्राफ़-संख्या, पद-संख्या (id, v, vs, p) और अध्याय-कड़ियाँ (prev/next) ठीक-ठीक मिलान की गई हैं।
- खोज। यह साइट हिन्दी पाठ पर स्वयं का खोज-सूचकांक (search index) उपयोग करती है, जो पूरी तरह आपके ब्राउज़र में चलता है — कुछ भी सर्वर पर नहीं भेजा जाता।
- अनुवाद न हुई पुस्तकें। जब तक कोई पुस्तक हिन्दी में अनुवादित नहीं होती, उसकी कड़ियाँ सीधे अंग्रेज़ी संस्करण की ओर ले जाती हैं, ताकि कोई कड़ी टूटी न मिले।
तकनीकी रूप से, अंग्रेज़ी संस्करण की तरह ही, यह भी एक सादा static वेब ऐप्लिकेशन है: HTML, CSS और JavaScript, जिसमें टीका प्रति-अध्याय एक छोटी JSON फ़ाइल में सहेजी गई है। सर्वर पर कुछ भी नहीं चलता — न PHP, न डेटाबेस, न Node.js। बुकमार्क और आपकी हल्के/गहरे रूप व अक्षर-आकार की पसन्द आपके ब्राउज़र के अपने local storage में सहेजी जाती हैं; वे आपके डिवाइस से बाहर कभी नहीं जातीं, और यह साइट कोई कुकी सेट नहीं करती और कोई ट्रैकिंग नहीं रखती।
