About this book

The Very Best of A. W. Tozer is a collection of 96 short chapters excerpted from sixteen of A. W. Tozer’s best-known books — among them The Pursuit of God, Born After Midnight, The Knowledge of the Holy, The Divine Conquest and I Call It Heresy. Several works are represented twice, once briefly and once at greater length, so the anthology reads as a wide-ranging sampler of Tozer’s writing on prayer, worship, the Holy Spirit, the church and the Christian life.

The collection opens with a foreword, “The Voice of One Crying in the Wilderness,” by Dr. J. D. Watson of Sola Scriptura Ministries International, excerpted from his book The Forgotten Tozer, which compares Tozer’s life and ministry to that of John the Baptist.
