This web edition reproduces the full text of the PDF The Very Best of A. W. Tozer (274 pages), supplied to UECF.NET and also available for download as the original PDF. The PDF is a compiled anthology of 96 numbered chapters, drawn from sixteen of A. W. Tozer’s books, preceded by a foreword by Dr. J. D. Watson of Sola Scriptura Ministries International.
How this web edition was produced
The complete text of all 96 chapters and the foreword was extracted directly from the source PDF and checked against the PDF’s own chapter headings and page numbers so that every chapter, heading and paragraph in the original is represented here. The book’s printed table of contents lists each excerpted work once for its first appearance and again wherever the anthology returns to it for a second, usually longer, excerpt — for example Born After Midnight, The Root of the Righteous and That Incredible Christian each appear twice, as two separate sections. This web edition keeps that structure and numbers the resulting 26 excerpt sections in the order they actually appear in the PDF, alongside the original Tozer chapter numbers (1–96) printed in the book.
No chapter, heading or paragraph has been summarized, paraphrased or omitted. Line breaks introduced by the PDF’s page layout were rejoined into normal paragraphs, and a small number of page numbers and running headers were removed as they are not part of the book’s text. Otherwise the wording, spelling and punctuation of the source PDF — including its own occasional inconsistencies, such as “Forward” for what is conventionally spelled “Foreword,” and the two slightly different titles used for Tozer’s The Pursuit of God excerpts — are preserved as printed.
Structure of the anthology
The 96 chapters are grouped into 26 excerpt sections by source work, each reproducing the “Excerpt(s) from …” heading printed in the book. A short section (one or two chapters) usually corresponds to a single quotation or reading; a longer section reproduces several consecutive chapters from the same book. The sidebar table of contents on every page shows both the section number and the original Tozer chapter range it covers.
