Series Foreword Since 1974, the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) and Scarecrow Press have endeavored to serve the study of world religions through the publishing of the ATLA Bibliography Series. With no intent other than to advance the study of religion, this wideranging series provides scholars with reliable academic bibliographies that advance our understanding of the worldwide beliefs, practices, history, and increasingly, contexts of religion. James Taneti’s History of the Telugu Christians: A Bibliography is a profound addition to this series. In seeking to understand Christianity among the Telugu people, we could find no better guide to the literature than this bibliography by Mr. Taneti, who has studied, taught, and written in both India and the United States about the history of Indian Christianity.
