Alister McGrath is president of the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics, and professor of theology, ministry, and education at King’s College, London. Before moving to London, McGrath was professor of historical theology at Oxford University. A former atheist, McGrath has a longstanding interest in the effective and faithful commendation of the Christian faith to secular culture, and has been a significant voice in the Christian response to the “New Atheism” of Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. His best-known apologetic books include The Dawkins Delusion? (2007) and Why God Won’t Go Away (2011). He has also published many bestselling textbooks on Christian theology, including Christian Theology: An Introduction (5th ed., 2010) and The Christian Theology Reader (4th ed., 2011).
