How I Found God and Perfect Peace is Bakht Singh's own testimony of his conversion from Sikhism to Christ while a student in Canada in 1929, and of the "joy unspeakable and full of glory" he found afterward. The edition scanned by the Internet Archive is a later compiled volume — published under the title page heading "Bakht Singh: Spiritual Leader of India — How I Found God and Perfect Peace" — that brings together his account of his own life with several of his shorter early writings, including material titled "First Steps in the Life of Faith" and "Peace," along with other short testimonies.

About Bakht Singh
Bakht Singh (born Bakht Singh Chabra, June 6, 1903 – September 17, 2000) was born to a Sikh family in Joiya village, Sargodha District, Punjab, in what was then British India. While studying agricultural engineering in Canada, he became a Christian in December 1929 after receiving a New Testament from a bank manager; he described an immediate, radical change in his habits and desires. He was baptized in Vancouver, British Columbia, in February 1932, sensed a call to ministry soon after, and returned to India in 1933.
Bakht Singh preached widely across India in the years that followed, including a widely remembered 1941 campaign in Madras (Chennai), and went on to found an indigenous, New-Testament-pattern movement of local assemblies — independent of any Western mission board or denomination — that spread to thousands of congregations across India and among the Indian diaspora. His best-known center, called Hebron, was established in Hyderabad, where large annual gatherings drew tens of thousands of believers. He died in Hyderabad in 2000, in his late nineties.
