Eternal Life

The first part of the Three-fold Witness is that a mature Christian must be able to lead someone to the Lord. We must be able to show the plan of salvation from Scripture. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is by using what is called the “Roman Road.” Using just the book of Romans, explain that Adam and Eve were created sinless; but, the result of the Fall was that all of their descendants, both you and me, were born with a sin nature that causes us to commit sin.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 KJV

Since every single human being has sinned, we are destined for hell, and there is nothing we can do by ourselves to change that.

“For the wages of sin is death;” Romans 6:23a KJV

But the good news is that Jesus Christ paid for our sins by becoming human and dying on the cross.

“but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23b KJV

Jesus loved us so much that He paid for our sins while we were still separated from Him.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 KJV

Everyone who believes and accepts what Jesus did for them becomes a Christian. We simply pray and ask Him to forgive us for our sins and begin to learn all the truths taught in the Scripture.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 KJV

We must believe tht Jesus is “Lord” or God Incarnate, the second person of the Trinity, and that He not only died but literally resurrected three days after His death and burial.

If we not only believe, but testify that we strongly hold to this faith and why we do so, then we will truly be saved. We will spend eternity with God and never spend once second in hell.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 KJV
