Greek Bible Ελληνική Αγία Γραφή

The 27 books of the New Testament in the original Greek (SBL Greek New Testament, SBLGNT). Read, search, and share the Greek text -- with or without accents.

This site's source PDF also contains a Hebrew Old Testament (Westminster Leningrad Codex); since that text is Hebrew, not Greek, it is not included here. Only the Greek New Testament is shown. See About this text below.

27 books

Source. Text is the SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT), copyright © 2010 Society of Biblical Literature and Logos Bible Software, extracted from the greek-bible.pdf supplied for this site (its own copyright page, reproduced above verse 1, states this).

License. “You may freely distribute the SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT), but you are not permitted to sell it on its own, either in print or electronic format.” UECF.NET does not sell this text; it is offered here for free reading, searching, and sharing.

Scope. The supplied PDF is 966 pages and contains two separate texts: pages 1-329 are this Greek New Testament (27 books), and pages 330-965 are a Hebrew Old Testament (Unicode/XML Westminster Leningrad Codex, transcribed by the J. Alan Groves Center for Advanced Biblical Research, tanach.us). Because that portion is Hebrew, not Greek, it is not included on this Greek Bible page.

Critical text. The SBLGNT is a modern scholarly edition and, unlike Textus-Receptus-based translations (e.g. the KJV or NKJV), omits a small, well-documented set of verses believed by its editors to be later scribal additions -- for example Matthew 17:21, Mark 16:9-20, and the Romans 16:25-27 doxology. Those numbers are genuinely absent from this PDF's own text; nothing has been added to fill the gaps. A full, itemized list is kept in this site's own build records for anyone who wants to check a specific reference.
