Source. Text is the Septuagint (LXX), the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, extracted from Septuagint-Bible-1879.pdf -- a public-domain, two-column Greek/English parallel edition printed in 1879. That PDF is a scan of the printed page images; it has no embedded digital text layer, unlike UECF.NET's Greek New Testament (SBLGNT), which was extracted from a PDF with genuine embedded text. Every word on this page was produced by OCR (optical character recognition) run against the scanned pages.

Extraction method. Each page was OCR'd with Tesseract's Ancient Greek ("grc") trained model. The source alternates which half of each page carries the Greek column (left on some pages, right on others); this was detected and corrected with a page-specific mirrored crop. Chapter and verse boundaries are reconstructed from the outer-margin numerals printed next to the text, cross-checked against this PDF's own running-header page citations -- never from the OCR'd digit values themselves, which are frequently misread (a documented, expected OCR limitation for small 1879 print), only from their sequence/count.

Accuracy. 30 of this text's 39 books have chapter counts that match standard Protestant/Masoretic versification exactly (compared against 151 chapters for Psalms, the LXX/Rahlfs count). The remaining 9 -- Psalms, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, Hosea, Jonah, Nahum, Haggai, and Malachi -- have a chapter-boundary discrepancy of one or a few chapters, almost certainly from OCR-detection uncertainty in those specific sections rather than missing text. Within any given verse, individual word boundaries can also drift by a word or two from the true verse start, because this edition's verse numerals are printed in the outer margin aligned to a text *line*, not to an exact word. None of this means text was invented: every verse shown is this PDF's own genuine OCR output.
