About this edition
Thoughts for the Quiet Hour is a year-long book of daily Scripture meditations compiled and edited by D. L. Moody (Dwight Lyman Moody, 1837–1899). Fleming H. Revell Company published this edition in 1900 in Chicago, New York, and Toronto, in The Red Library series of evangelical literature.
The readings first appeared in monthly issues of the Record of Christian Work. Moody gathered them into this permanent volume so that readers who keep a daily “Quiet Hour” would have a short verse and a brief comment for every day of the year.

This UECF.NET Web Book follows the wording of the source PDF. Hyphenation at line ends has been joined, and only obvious scan/OCR errors that can be checked against the printed page have been corrected (for example broken date headings such as “January isU” for January 1st). Scripture quotations keep the book’s own wording. Linked references open the matching chapter in the UECF.NET Matthew Henry Commentary. The original printed “Index of Texts” is a page-number concordance; this web edition indexes every daily reading for full-text search instead. Empty scan leaves at the end of the PDF are omitted.
