That Incredible Christian is a collection of 41 short essays by A. W. Tozer. Most first appeared as editorials in The Alliance Witness, the magazine Tozer edited, during 1960–1963; one, “The Art of True Worship,” was first published in Moody Monthly in 1952. The collection was gathered and published in 1964, the year after Tozer’s death.
Across the essays Tozer returns again and again to one idea: that a genuine Christian life looks like a paradox to the watching world — strongest when weakest, richest when it has given the most away, most free when it has surrendered the most. Each essay stands on its own and can be read in a single sitting, so the book works equally well read straight through or opened at random for a few pages of reflection.
