Description
Seven addresses on men of Scripture. Moody draws lessons of faith, obedience, character, service, and devotion to God from Abraham’s surrenders, the call of Moses, Naaman the Syrian, the prophet Nehemiah, Herod and John the Baptist, the man born blind with Joseph of Arimathea, and the penitent thief. Scripture references in this web edition link to the New King James Version on UECF.NET.

OCR notes
Four obvious Gutenberg/OCR errors were corrected because the intended wording is clear from context:
- seventy five years old and when he departed → seventy and five years old when he departed (Genesis 12:4 as Moody quotes it)
- it way be disastrous → it may be disastrous
- brought us with all the luxuries → brought up with all the luxuries
- see now quickly the judge → see how quickly the judge
Left unchanged where the reading is possible as printed: period spellings such as to-morrow, shew, fulfiled, and Moody’s spoken idiom. Uncertain: the dying-thief narrative’s “Make haste, and bring him to me?” (question mark may be a scanned punctuation slip; left as in Gutenberg).
